12 points would result in an automatic ban - the points are cumulative as well, so this would be 12 points acquired over a 1 month period.

Is there a maximum amount of infraction points that you can have before you get banned for good or anything?

You wont get banned for good, just for being bad.

How do you know if you have infraction points???

Revised due to feedback here:

Suspension tiers are as follows:

Warning infraction = 0 points/no suspension
1 point full infraction = no suspension, the point is active for thirty days

All infractions are active for thirty days, if a two point infraction is received before the previous one has expired, it will increase by two points each time and will accumulate until a full ban is reached.

2 points = a one day suspension
4 points = a three day suspension
6 points = a five day suspension
8 points = a two week suspension
10 points = a one month suspension
12 points = a full site ban or suspension

If a one or two point infraction is given at any time after all other infractions have expired, the sequence begins again at zero.

We can if deemed necessary, issue any of the above points tally in one go.

Please note that all infractions will now be active for 30 (thirty) days.

Your 1st 2 points will expire on the 18th, the others shortly afterwards. If you receive another 2 points or more before the 18th then post 11 will give you a good indication of what you can expect to receive.

Yes, although it's a cumulative total. If you conduct yourself in the expected manner say for the next 4 weeks, you're points will stand at Zero.

So it’s pretty much impossible to get banned.

You would have to be a right idiot and have the intension of getting banned to hit those points in succession even with the 30 day rule.

The intention is not to allow members to have a free period where they can continually repeat offences when their points tally reduces over time.

For repeat offences, you are likely to see the points stepped up also.

e.g. FS/FT - Selling a prohibited item - lets say 2 pts.

If you repeat the offence, you're more than likely to be hit with a double whammy, i.e. 4pts, add this to your existing 2 and it's now 6 pts.

This figure has been breached before, but yes, it does take a sustained breach (of minor infractions) to reach the limit.
banned#16
As an example, I'm pretty sure I no longer get warnings for anything - its a straight 2 pointers for me because I'm supposedly a trouble maker. So there is common sense involved as well Adam

On the plus side, it seems to be a manual process, and the mods sometimes get the ban wrong, and you get less than you should.

Currently ASB is on a one man crusade to ban me, but luckily (or unluckily depending on your view), hes failing pretty bad.

Love you ASB xxx

Okay makes more sense.
