I did that once, by mistake, because the tabs at the top seem to default to new when you change e.g. topics.

Got rapped around the knucles for it.

Pointed it out to someone else, in a very nice way, got my knuckles rapped for doing that too!!

Can't win!

Ive found a few freebies and stuff lately gone to post and seen they have been here before but over 4 months ago. Well i only joined in june and although i could sit here and trawl through months of previous postings if a freebie link is still active its nice to let newbies know about it. For instant jelly belly allow you to try n get a freebie from them every 3 months. Does it really hurt to post a freebie if such time as 3months or more have elapsed. Not everyone gets to look at the boards eveyrday and its easy to miss a good freebie for instant i posted a link for free bepanthen yesterday and it been 4 montsh since posted befiore which i did state.
Well anyway 2 or 3 ppl gave me rep and i had 5 nice comments. And they werent all newbies

Diva - that's a different issue, I'm meaning bumping threads for no reason at all whereas in your example there's obviously a very good reason for doing so.

I'm not going to laugh at you for asking a reasonable question ;)

BUMP = Bring Up My Post, doesn't have to be your own post it means to post in a thread simply to bring the thread back to the top of the forum. Bumping very old threads (several years old) is known as grave digging, some people like to do it as it causes confusion until someone spots the old dates hence it's often banned on forums.
