#3
Yes, it's working, but depending on what we are doing it might not be looked at instantaneously.

Well this thread worked better than my report, so maybe we should have a report a post thread rather than a report a post button

Yep

I really think, especially in the for trade forum, reported posts should be acted on immediately, preferablly before someone gets ripped off, i think that board really needs moderating better than it is, yes i know it is up to buyers to be more careful but also it is up to HUKD to be more careful to what is going on too

I agree, but that's life.
This current scammer has practically been caught but with NO help from HUKD.

I take it you have been reporting the 'Spice Girl' tickets? I don't know why the Mod that posts the HUKD disclaimer doesn't remove the posts, the tickets aren't even out yet so nobody could have them in hand.

Yes i saw what went on with the other scammer, and yes today it was the spice girls thread, tomorrow it will be something else, i just think that as soon as something is picked up on that board it should be monitored, if it cant be monitered it shouldnt be here, you dont see any other shop leaving its doors open unstaffed

I think a 'dedicated' FS/FT/Wanted Moderator would be the best option but...

............................i know it wont happen  Well the thing is we can only report, if those reports are only getting picked up willy nilly then there really aint much point in reporting them :? As at some stage im sure someone would notice.......................or maybe not :w00t:

yeah i was just thinking that, or,not sure if this is 'do-able' but fs/ft post being moderating before they go live so the user selling can be checked out first.

good idea loupomm, or just making sure that the mod reads the thread before posting there bit, im sure this would stop alot, if not, most of it

even that can be too late as ive seen posts that are replied to before a mod gets the discaimer in. Some users might not realise its a case of 'watch your own back' and jump in thinking they have the 'protection' of hukd.

Well you could post in the thread that you have contacted the mods about the thread, and If the mod thinks its of they can remove your post. Then anybody who looks at it in the interim will see your concern.

the mods dont continually re-read threads, if they did threads wouldnt need reporting :p

Think this through.

There are x number of complaints whether it is done through a thread or a report post. Either way of reporting is not going to result in more or less complaints - so we can consider that number as "fixed".

So what you are proposing is that instead of clicking that little image and shooting off a report direct into the email inbox of mods is that you want to have a thread to complain in? So that every time you see something you want to report you have to find the thread, make a post, and then hope some mod happens to wander along and find it?

Not to be a complete jerk sassie and I know you're trying to help but whinging != helping. If you want to make your dedicated complaint thread go ahead, doesn't matter to me, but I guarantee you are not going to get a response as fast as using the report button. We have a system for reported posts and posting a thread in comments is a waste of space. Sure the squeeky wheel may get the grease but that's not a good way to handle problems.

Ever heard of tongue in cheek? Funny how you picked up on the one post that was posted very much tongue in cheek  You may call it whinging if that is how you see it but if it stops someone getting ripped off i call it helping, maybe you would like to pick up on some of the more serious comments in this thread too
[admin]#21
I don't see anything in that post that indicates it is tongue in cheek.

We appreciate feedback and help but it's going to be much easier to act upon serious posts then and not tongue in cheek posts as obviously I am unable to tell the difference.

My opening post was a genuine question, i had reported a post that was not removed whilst alot of the team where on, i again reported the post and it still remained on, i also then reported another post (on the for sale board) which remained there fore some time, so yes i did begin to wonder if it was working hence my first post, on a mod seeing this post the other post i had reported was removed immediately hence my second post ( a little truth in my post, but also very much tongue in cheek too) We (the members) then went on to "discuss suggestions" for the sale board and how we thought it needed more moderation, if you dont approve of either mine or other members suggestions then that is fine, we dont all approve of everything
[admin]#23
Ok. I think pm'ing a mod might be more useful in that case?

I agree that if there is something dodgy it should be a priority to take it down.

And I agree that if we are unable to quickly remove fs/ft problem threads that we need to look at having more help there. FS/FT is probably slower than other threads to remove though to be honest as it can be quite difficult to figure it all out exactly what is going on sometimes.

Can I ask if members breaking the rules are given 'Strikes'?

For example, say I pm'ed the negotiation of my sale, and then put a 'Sold' post in my thread.
If this was reported to a moderator, would they contact me (Not in the thread that I might never return to) and let me know that I have broken the rules, and is this shared with the team?

If yes, let's say I did it again, would a different moderator automatically know that i'd been warned before.

I hope this makes sense, I don't explain it as well as I should.
[admin]#25
We do informally yeah. There's a mod chat channel where the mods are in contact with eachother so that everyone knows roughly what is going on. There are also user notes that mods can see and they usually mark any problems in there so that other mods can check.

We don't have a full strike system (where x strikes and then someone is blocked etc) but that is a feature of the new vB software.

Thanks for that Admin. :)

A thread was reported by myself for trading happening by PM today, I reported it, and a mod put in a warning, there was still further dealing by PM, I reported it again.

The thread was locked, good I thought, it is worth pointing out these discretions.

But, the thread is then unlocked, and the result = My 2nd post warning of dealing by PM removed. The alleged offender requests a further PM.

I may not be party to the whole story, but I see why members get frustrated when they take their time to report threads, and it carries on with(Seemingly) HUKD blessing. :?

thesaint - you guys don't see what goes on off the boards. We appreciate reported posts, but we don't tell you all that happens.

For example, members get warned by PM, notes are placed on their account, if it persists, they receive bans. This is not a hard and fast rule though, as each case needs to be looked at individually, to decide the severity of the punishment.

I appreciate that we do not see what happens behind the scenes, which is why I stated

There wasn't even a note put in the thread, which would've been something.

To have my post removed is mystifying, I simply wrote "reported" I wasn't rude or confrontational.

I understand that you've probably answered these queries a million times before, but you will keep on getting the same queries over and over until we see something being done.

I am another joining the ranks of not bothering to report again, and before anyone says it, I know it's not the 'Community spirit'. :-(

Your post was removed as it referred to other posts which were removed.

...Leaving the last post on the thread being one requesting a PM, even though no offer or acceptance has been done on the thread.

Which will then lead to someone else reporting the thread(If they can be bothered) and away we go again.
