Is there a good reason why there isn't the facility to click to quote the OP of a thread? - HotUKDeals

Well, you could simply copy and paste the text and put it into a new quote. So it's not too bad.

I thought this once....but then I wondered why I would want to quote the OP.....quoting in the thread is to reply to a certain poster....I presume posts without other quotes in are replies to the OP

then again, I dont see why it isnt allowed neither lol

Yes, I do that  but that would be true of all the thread - every post, so why does just the op not have a quote option?:?

Agree with OP,would be a handy addition

i think its because there is no need to quote the op, as if you are responding to the op it aint needed, if you arent responding to the op then you can quote any other post, although i think that is far to technical a reason - lol

lol

If I'm responding to the OP in this thread then I could just post
Yes, it's too difficult
but that's a bit ambiguous if it's half way down the page!

The reason it occured to me was Micoo's snow thread - really about his birthday - where I was going to reply but wanted to quote the OP and Charlie Scene's post and then it was all too much trouble.
Perhaps that's the reason - reduce banal replies!!

I would've thought that the coding dosen't work in the OP, same as you can't posts pics in an opening post etc
