"I'm not in the midlands!"
"Midlands in misc???"
"Where is North UK ?"
"Disable local tab"
"North deals"
"South west deals ... really"
"Whats this UK North tab at the top of my screen about!!!" (Misc)
"IS HUKD now only showing deals according to regional location?"
There may be more; these are just the ones I've seen.
Don't know why they had to change from the old layout,it was much better imo than this one........progress ? :p
pointless.
No mention of Sheffield Deals?.......Nearest when I put in my postcode is The North of England.....which is quite an area to call 'local'
Why not select "Leeds"?
I can appreciate why you have taken that approach, but if somebody sets "North of England" & then a few local deals for Sheffield are listed, will those with "North of England" set see them in the dedicated tab?
We will keep revisiting those sections to see what else we can add in. The thinking was that having loads of sections without activity wouldn't be useful and that it would be better to start broad and see what local areas became popular with users and then drill down to those.

However, if members cannot find the regions/locations they wish to now they may feel less inclined to list "Deals" (or other Forum threads) in dedicated areas of the UK because they think there will be no visibility.
Chicken meet egg; egg meet chicken. Catch-18 or Catch-22? For recursive, see recursive, etc.
Perhaps adding some text to the selection "panel" about how the "Local Deals" selection functions (with respect to hierarchy as you mentioned above) would help members appreciate the feature (more).
just thought it was yet another broken feature :)
Kent is more local to Sussex than "North of England" is! ;)
That's why we've done it how it is now where there aren't many sub-areas and everything is in the top area.
How would that help? You mean feedback threads?
...but in contrast, if I see the regions as they are today, I may think the closest to my location (say, Sheffield) is Leeds; so I'll use that. The diversity may never happen because of the lead that others may follow.
Yes, "Feedback" & "Misc" threads; just look at the list in comment #2.
Free help for the site isn't going to be here forever (presently Company excluded, of course) ;)
