It is bit like posting that it's raining in Skegness. But I guess it makes the OPshappy!

most fuel prices are within 1 or 2 pence of the next garage in the area...so even if you buy 40 litres, you may only save 80p ....and its not worth driving further than your local garage , as any small saving will be wiped out by the extra mileage to get there....just enjoy the cheap fuel while it lasts, but I dont think anyone wants to keep seeing prices on here....its really no big saving.

that's kind of my point, the deal posts will continue whatever even though it'll only be relevant to some, so it seems to make sense to have an area for it?

Does the "Travel" Topic not already provide such an area?

Hi Haylhoo - I think its likely that its such a topical issue right now that we've seen a few offers the same posted on site.

I'm not sure theres enough right now for a separate area of HUKD to be put in place considering the existing deals can fit into the current categories.

Thank you for your reply.

I wonder then, whether the amount of posts that are being submitted should actually be allowed to remain i.e. some aren't really good deals at all. They are starting to take over lol. Most people will see the prices in their local area so is there really a need for 'deals' to state what is probably the obvious? Unless of course they are nationwide discounts such as the supermarket pricedrops etc. rather than prices at an individual garage which will only be 'potentially' of use to a small number of members.

As long as all the information is readily available in the thread, the local offers are fine to stay.

If the community doesn't like something or they think it isn't worth bringing it to the attention of the wider community, they'll vote it down which takes care of the point you make about whether something is really a good deal.
