What's the official line?

the official line is a formal route of communication, but thats not important right now. Also see The Official Line
I didnt see anything on that thread that "promoted" film piracy.

I fail to see what the difference is when a member admits to taking illegal drugs and promoting their use tbh.

It is not a "Hot Deal" that is why it is in misc

Most of my comments are surrounding the laws of drug use. I have no problems with discussions about the morality of downloading movies illicitly.

But I don't tell people where they can get things.

Hope that helps:thumbsup:

Not really.

If you think there's a problem with a thread, why not post a report like you normally would?

I don't generally report threads.

Plus, I was interested in what the official line was for my own interests, and to provide guidelines for others in future.

Torrent sites gets mentioned on here all the time, as does jailbreaking mobile phones, modding xboxs, making "backup" copies of software/dvds. Some will argue that this should be banned but the world isn't perfect. Ban these threads and mods would have to remove any post that talks about vigilantism, boasting about speeding offences or drink driving, avoiding parking fines - basically anything illegal.

I have no strong feelings aout the threads as they don't make much difference to me and they probably don't make much difference to the site.

Why not complan about this thread - in my mind (if one is sensitive about this kind of thing) the thread below is worse

(Thats not a dig at the person requesting an invite btw) - if you really want to raise this issue the thread you highlighted was a poor one

It's got nothing in particular to do with the OP of that thread. I highlighted other peoples' comments too.

We don't allow links to specific torrents or illegal media, however discussion on the subject is usually ok.

This thread is turning into the usual "discussion" featuring the usual members, now locking
