I agree !

Its even worse when its saverstore !

Great advertising for the Goog though :D
#3
No, keep em coming! I certainly don't have the time or patience to look through every single item at every site that has the offer on so having other people post them is a good thing.
#4
I don't think we can stop them all, as there are some absolutely cracking bargains in there. We really only remove deals posts if they are spam or self-promotion in most cases. We have lately been removing a few supermarket deals, when people are posting things that are available everywhere in all supermarkets at the same pirce etc.

Mods can you please put a hold on all this "with google checkout".

Why? I'm sure most people will be interested in saving £10 - That's what this site is all about!

Sure, some of the deals may not be to your liking, but they may be to other people.

If you don't want the google checkout deals - don't read them!

I feel the OP is refering quite directly to my post earlier, http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68875, which I genuinely felt is a good deal and is a new low price for the drive - I have never seen Seagate SATA hard drives of any size for under £24 before and I know many people like buying these drives because of their 5 year warranty. I posted the Maxtor drive a couple of weeks ago and it was appreciated by quite a few people, then it went out of stock. I noticed today it was back in stock and they also had lowered the price of the Seagate, so it seemed sensible to post a deal about it.

Remember... if you're that bothered you can also play with RSS feeds to pick up certain categories only or only send deals when they reach a certain temperature.
#8
No it is not about your post I don`t mind if you post and point out it is much cheaper than elsewhere.
I am fed up with posts that are the same price as everywhere else but has the google reduction . I could go through every retailer google checkout is available to and say pair of cushions £20 with google checkout and be correct.
Yet it could be available for the same price in every other retailers. If it is a genuine bargain like the mini maxtor I have no problem with it .
It is the endless lists of only being cheap because of google checkout. The genuine bargains are getting lost in the drivel

Sorry about that, and I can see where you are coming from also. However, the promotion will end in a month or so and the aim of this site is after all to find good deals, and I think its safe to say that things such as the hard drives for £22 - £24 will not be available anywhere for under £30 once the deal ends. Its worth remembering that this site isn't only for members and regular visitors - some people may (still) not be aware of the GC promotion and may buy a similar item from another retailer or perhaps hold-off in the hope it will be cheaper in a couple of months, and whilst this may only be £2 or £3 cheaper than the next option at the moment that is still 10% of the price.

Anyhow, its probably only for the next month or so and many of the deals posted are very good indeed, so I'd just grin and bare it..

Not really much of a reason not to use Google checkout either... especially while this £10 promo is running...

I appreciate it is a saving if you use google checkout but to the people who do not use the facility it is not a saving it is the same price as it was.

I don't shop in the high street so I think all OFFLINE deals should be pulled as well. I don't want to walk down town to HMV or Superdrug so to me they're useless.

Therefore just because I don't choose to use them I don't see why ANYBODY else should benefit, no matter how good the deal is.

And yes, you can consider this post a total p**stake:thumbsup: :giggle:

There should be two sub cats , one for online shopping & one for offline shopping.

So why can't everyone use GC?

Just had a look (I haven't used GC yet) and it appears GC takes credit card and Debit cards, So surely anyone can use them? :

You're right, I was too lazy to look lol. No excuse at all then. Foolish NOT to take advantage of a gift horse I say (after 3 GC orders and 1 in preperation:p ).

Everything but Visa Electron - I sympathise with those stuck only with Electron cards, but as they accept the vast majority of payment cards I don't think there is any reason to consider it a lesser or limited option to other payment systems.
#19
Apparently some people say Visa Electron works. I never tried, but my friend who has one had... and succeeded.
If GC wants to win the Paypal thing, they have to include VE sooner or later.

Any chance you could point were the filter options are?

Just had a quick look under "edit options" and couldn't find anything.

Edit : Just found it on the Main front page, Is there anyway i could set the option on the forum and have it permanently on?, Thanks

If you use the "Visa" option it usually works

A genuine saving with google checkout I can take but they are listing everything in the ebuyer catalogue.

I can partially agree with what you are saying and have at times thought the same.

However, seeing these posts have shown me some genuine deals that would of been othwise missed - and some have been taken advantage.

Keep em coming I say. (and the longer the better ) - even though its costing me a fortune (or saving depending on perspective!)
