As far as I've gathered, the helpers wont be banning people, just helping to tidy the place up and stuff by expireing old threads and making sure new ones are presented properly and in the right place etc.

The people being picked seem to enjoy doing this stuff anyway so I think it's just a way of making it easier for them and giving them a bit of recognition for helping out.

Can't be a bad thing in a site this size, should make it easier to find more relevant deals and save yu even more £££££s LOL.

It's tha banners advertising them that I don't get but in the grand scheme of things, who cares?

What a weird thread

It can only be a good thing to have more help. The site is growing all the time and this will help it run more smoothly.

You've only been here 8 months, wait for 4 and half years then you will know this site needs as much help as possible :)

I welcome the helpers with open arms, great to see the site now being finally sorted out

Expiring deals, fixing up incorrect details, adding details etc should make the deals better not worse. So I think it's in your favour timtom13 :)

...and something a few long-serving members do as a matter of course without (much) recognition... until now (for those selected to be noted for their past assistance).

However, "with great power comes great responsibility". Previously if a thread was expired in error, or details provided were inaccurate, then the member attempting to be helpful could apologise & the matter would be dropped. From now on the officially announced Forum Helpers are in the spotlight & their actions are scrutinised by everybody else (with the mindset to do so).

We should be grateful that people give their time freely to assist the masses, but also allow them to learn as they go. Alienating them by making a joke of their attempts to help may be funny once or twice as long as the Helper is sharing the joke. A continued abuse of their good nature may well backfire to the detriment of every member.

Well done, & thank you, to all those that have offered to help to the best of your abilities.

Good luck (you'll need it with this audience).

BFN,

fp.
