It appears that quite a few recent new members, like me, have registered because of the site changes. I have been using HUKD for approx 18 months and have had some great bargains but have not contributed to the site. My apologies for that and I hope to make up for it in the future. I hope you don't mind me posting a few comments on what I have experienced and read the last few days even though I have never contributed on the old site.
The day the site changed I registered to find a forum that frightened the life out of me. I have to be honest and say that I have enjoyed getting to grips with it (it's an age thing) and each day it improves but it would have been better left until after Xmas. I cannot compare it with the old site as I did not use it but understand the comments by those users who did. As someone who was an active member on Mse for a long time I experienced changes that I did not like ( hi to the other well known names from there that I see here) but the same was said there as is being said here along the lines of " It's Martin's site and he can do what he likes" and "If you don't like it, leave" etc. I will not comment on that apart from saying to those that have stated they have left or are leaving that your input helped to make this site what it is, you helped to build it so stay and help to change from within. I think you will find that wherever you go you will come across the same type of thing but you will also be up against long serving members of the site you join and some of those can resent your input. If you start a new site where the Admin asks what you think before each move, there will come a day when you do not all agree and then what?
Those that point out the users on line stats should also look at the Mse stats.

Think the figures speak for themselves.
Now that my alert emails are coming through again I suppose I could once more disappear but now that I have been forced in, I may as well stay and hope I can give you all a little payback for the deals I have used in the past.
I find the site easy to navigate now but it has been slower for me the last couple of days. As a newcomer then, I found it a difficult forum to understand but now feel that it is pretty damn good.
I would like to thank those members who have posted help and advice re the new forum. I also hope that those that have left will return as I can see that they are missed.
The new site and the timing of its launch has upset a great many members and perhaps it is time for an email from Admin. What he would put in it is up to him but I think I know what I would write. On the plus side, Admin seems to be on top of what is going on and things are getting done.
Merry Xmas all and A Happy New Year.
