why you wanna unlike them? could understand if you hit by accident, but to unlike - lol
#3
Sometimes I've like comments by accident and others simply don't deserve my liking.

We have the ability to like or un-like comments in real life, so I'd like (pun intended) the ability to do it here.

Not one to normally wash my dirty linen in public, I liked a comment in this thread, but the buyer has not yet made payment and no longer responds to my PMs. Accordingly, i want to remove my like.

It's really just the one above and another I accidentally did in a recent thread I posted in.

surely the liking of the statement is unchanged, it is your feelings towards the poster which have changed?
#9
Yes WB - and removing a like is sanction I'd like to be able to impose.

Yeah, and that'll really upset them.

good question, how do you know which comments you've liked, or which of your own comments have been liked?

Never thought of that VB1

Any chance of a mod comment?

(reported)

No response yet.....Other than to delete VB1's post which highlights the issue

I know... comedy isn't it. I did clearly say I was perfectly happy with them deleting it - but I'd have thought common sense would say they could also leave a comment.

We'll take a look into this VB1, undeleted your comments.

Windhoek, not sure really but we'll have a chat about it here. Personally, I think the problem VB1 has highlighted is more of an issue. I think once you like a comment, providing the comment remains the same then there shouldn't be a problem, regardless of how you're feeling two days later or whether the circumstances behind the original "like" have changed.
We'll see anyway :)

you couldnt take rep back, so whats the difference, oh yes others couldn't see you had left it, so now we are wanting mods to run around unliking comments because someone maybe edited a post, or someone decided they no longer like a comment, the like button is used as a who is who so why bother putting any effort into now staffing it
#17
Would it be too hard to make posts that are liked uneditable.
[admin]#18
Well yeah that's what we'll look at greg, rather than running around as Sassie described
banned#19
yeah making a post uneditable will not help in the fs boards, more suspensions for bumping, when members need to add payment received, item posted, edited their posts for items sold, etc,etc unless you are making the fs board unlikebale

On MSE you can remove your "thanks" i think you should be able to remove a "like" i clicked one recently by accident, when i meant to click reply,i ended up clicking like instead,i blame my stupid netbook.

I'd deliberately like posts in order to stop people editing their posts.

You know... cos I'm a ****.
#22
OK take it the other way then, if any post is edited the likes are removed automatically.

Works for me.

Am I to deduce that if a reply is 'liked' then the reply cannot be deleted?

I think that rep was much better than like and it gave an alternate method of communication when PMs don't work.
