is it as awesome as the others?
[admin]#3

lol, no.

On the main thread pages (e.g. the lists of threads in each forum), the playpennies banner, makes the site have a vertical scroll. It's a bad practise....

it does seem to be which is perfectly fine and entirely this sites right but it really doesn't sit well with the stuff spouted in the about us section.

not bad, not a fan of the "celebrity " section, but id guess that 90% of the members on here will use it just for that purpose alone.

will give it a full critique in the morning if required.

I'm sure Admin can't wait and has probably planned his day so as not to miss it

As for the playpennies site - at first glance it seems to be aimed at parents with pre-school children - is this the case?

The borders round the page and the playpennies logo look like they belong to a pre-school nursery website - maybe they could be simplified a bit (although if the site is aimed mainly at parents with pre-school children then I guess it is suitable).

I think the tabs/filters all/deals/freebies/comp etc need to be a little bit bolder (or somehow clearer that they are tabs/filters)

It would be nice to condense the articles so that the titles are shown and then expand the ones you are interested in (a bit like text view on here - makes it easier to skim through for articles of interest) but you could argue thats not really the purpose of a blog

I like the features section this could have some really practical parenting tips/articles and Misc could provide some ideas for topics from the help requests in Misc eg "fussy eaters"....and it could be topical eg things to do with kids during the Xmas hols, painting eggs at Easter.....

Presumably the comments section will be kept clean? If parents are looking at the site with children they won't want swear words in every comment........

PS tried to post a comment in response to one of the articles but when I clicked on the post/submit button, nothing happens.

What browser are you in please? Any chance you can try it again and see if it works? If it's a glitch, we'd really appreciate trying to figure it out :)

Why is everything that is done here always met with negativity? (bar Gari's post which was constructive)

Am i missing a secret agenda by certain members or is it just classed as the cool thing to do?
#13
Great idea :)
#14
I actually like it and think it will be useful to it's target audience, but I agree with Gari's comments about having a 'text view' option, it would make it easier to skim through.

It certainly is a lot more useful and constructive than BW.

Off topic, are you the editor emma?
#15
It's making my front page have a scroll bar across the bottom.

Hi guys!!

Could someone with IE7 please try posting a comment on PlayPennies, and let me know how you get on please? The issue should be fixed, so I hope you can leave a comment now.

Probably would be a good idea to get in on the contest, if you haven't already :)
