Use the report function if you see this happening.

im not sure how anyone could enforce it, but if buyers and sellers dont follow the advice then there really is no good moaning when the deal goes belly up, the only ones to suffer are the pair that didnt bother following the guidelines

Exactly.

There are so many people knowingly flouting the guidelines (and a few users persistantly doing so even though told otherwise) that i can't be bothered to keep pointing it out anymore. Unless these people are eventually punished then the For Sale board is going to end up a wasted opportunity and a waste of time.

Agreed. Why is somebody allowed to post this thread after having this thread closed due to excessive bumping only a matter of weeks after having this thread closed for excessive bumping and others. It really ruins the FS forum for people trying to play by the rules :x
#5
Because the locking of those threads in effect gives the user a short ban from that forum. Also the ones you've pointed out, the user has been officially banned in the past for a couple of days.
#6
Well, it must have been literally 48 hours after the last ban and to repost the same stuff straight again just seems plain unfair to people who are trying to stick to the rules. Some of those games have been effectively bumped about 15 times now!
#7
That's a fair point and we'll take it into consideration when offending users post again. Something like a ban of one week or two before they can re-post that particular deal.
#8
What would the rule be for a user, following the rules correctly, reposting a deal after it had 2 bumps and had not sold (perhaps at a lower price)?

Granted its a grey area, and I appreciate how its very difficult to lock threads where a deal is in place (or something like in this case where something has been reposted with another item), but there must be a point at which you say no more - this poster has had four threads closed due to bumping and has been asked to follow rules about stating price etc. a silly number of times. At what point will you say enough is enough and do something that might actually work, like place on the traders to avoid list for a while?

No. Its actually quite easy to enforce.

On the AVForums "forsale" section, people that disobey, get banned from posting to that forum. It might be a bit of extra work for the mods - but worthwhile to enforce the rules. After a while, people will quickly learn! That forum uses a month ban when an agreed sale falls through - unless there is a very good reason for that happening. It works very well.

Totally beyond a joke now, why is fessen's thread unlocked to let him bump again?

Completely unfair to honest users, if it can't be moderated fairly and you're not prepared to take any real action the FS section should just be closed. :-(

I feel sorry for him, a mod has locked his thread again, all he did was bump to let people know it was unlocked, and then he updated the list and let people know. If I modify a part of my original post for some reason, I always make a reply to let people know.

well you best be careful then as hes just been banned for it :w00t:

It's okay to a point, but the user concerned has been warned on numerous occasions and so has received a 2 day ban.

He didn't just let people know about it being unlocked, He also wrote underneath "Updated LIST

Not much left now."

If he had intentions of updating the thread, He could've done it the same time as letting people know it was unlocked.....

Sorry guys, but it's not fair to talk about someone that cannot reply here... please do not continue to do so... Thanks.

I follow most of the rules but when you post on somebodies thread and they do not respond (due to being offline) is it wrong to drop them a PM. Instead of bumping old threads

Enlighten me

It's fine to PM them, the point is that any interest should be made in the thread first and acceptance of offer too.
