Both the Argos and Woolworths websites have a bit of a semi-scam going where they reduce the price of an item more than once, but only ever give the original full price as the 'WAS' - i.e. something started off at £50, then was reduced to £25, then reduced again to £12.50 - but all you see is "Was £50 now £12.50".
Many sale items have been posted recently where they're on their second reduction, and have been previously posted at the first reduction price. Thread posters, including mods, are still posting the 'WAS' price at the original, even when it's clear that's not what the most recent price was. Examples below.
I think it should be made clearer where possible what the real reduction that is being offered is. In one of the cases below, the reduction appears to be £11.80, when in reality it's only £2 less than you could have bought it for previously.
It's one thing for a retailer to be sneaky and mislead customers, but I think at HUKD we're supposed to be savvy and recognise when we're being misled, and it doesn't help if we're just repeating what the retailer says.
