why not? if i state im interested and they say thats fine then no problems, happens now and again, and its fine, unless the OP doesnt want it.

I have started my own im just proposing an update.

because its totally unfair on the op, yes they may be fine with it, but then it encourages it across the baords, when things are for sale too, you cant have one rule for one thread and not another

it does come under the rules

(14) Please ONLY post in a thread if you are interested in engaging in the sale/trade listed. Anything else will be considered thread spoiling and will be deleted. Thread spoilers, including threadjackers, face a ban from the FS/FT forum. If a member continually posts questions in multiple threads and then withdraws from the sale this will be considered thread spoiling. Low ball offers will also be considered thread spoiling and will be deleted. It is up to the original poster to use the 'report' button to notify moderators of any thread spoiling.

but technically i could be considered in the listing, the listing in the thread...obviously interpretation is key then, but then a clarification should be made still

sassie i never understood why you get so personally involved and hard backed over these issues, im merely stating its not very clear and thus a clarification would only be a positive change.
I am merely stating, and not implying i had the item, that it could be misread.

well it seems like you were quite attacking in your approach, but apologies if not. If i get an infraction then i deserve it, so i will not try and dodge it. But as you say its nearly christmas...so a present from the mods would be nice :-D

There was a potential for thread jacking. The sale by all means took place off the board as the feedback thread was set up for an item already received.

Made a mess of it also.

The correct procedure was to make your own wanted thread, prior to dealing.

use some common sense and read the thread in question. no threadjacking or trolling took place, if anything awoodhall is encouraging politeness accross the boards as people reading the thread would see that he asked op permission first and see this is how its done here. Anyone using fs/ft boards on a regular basis would know this happens ALL the time and no1 is pulled up on it, so either put a stop to it or dont pick on one member. As awoodhall pointed out its interpretation, you dont just hand out infractions blindly.

on topic i think this small rule should be added in for clarification purposes.

Smeagol,

You're going to have to refresh yourself with the rules. The OP here knows fine well he had a discussion with another member in someone elses fs/ft thread. As it turned out, the item shouldn't have been in fs/ft at all (the newly created thread) for several reasons. The item was given away at nil value (postage only) and also no deal took place on the forum.

I understand and agree with that. what happened after was a mess, but my post was reffering to the other members posting in this thread.

when i started wanted threads ages ago, i was forever reminding people that it was my wanted thread so many people butted in saying they would take something being offered to me in my thread and ignoring me when i asked them to stop

all i do now is put a note at the beginning as it really annoys me:-D
