How do you submit a review about a particular merchant with the recent change to the Deals & Discounts / Voucher Codes / Reviews pages?

For example, [ http://www.hotukdeals.com/reviews/play-com ] shows a list of previous reviews but no apparent method of adding another.

If you click on the 'more' link above the existing reviews in the right hand column of the merchant link it will open up the review submission box :)

* Actually your link is the same as mine - can you do a screenshot fanpages please so I can compare what you see to what I see as a mod ? thanks again

Thanks for your prompt reply, sigma, but I am unsure where to click.

"More" just gives me more comprehensive details of the reviews. I do not see a submission box (like the one that was present before the recent change to this area of the site).

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious; it just isn't obvious to me.

I've just added a test review for play.com and then deleted it - and it would appear that once you have left a review for the retailer the option is then removed to leave any future reviews for that retailer. I'll need to confirm the settings with the Admin team tomorrow, but at the mo it seems to be one review per merchant.

This is what I see when I click "More"...

Do you see something different?

I have left a review previously (the top of what is currently page #9).

If I choose a completely different merchant, say, [ http://www.hotukdeals.com/reviews/wilko-wilkinson-plus ], then yes, I do see the familiar submission box/form layout.

If that feature is by design, then I'm not quite sure of the rationale behind it. If you are supposed to be able to leave more than one comment per merchant then obviously this needs attention.

Thanks for checking in any respect.

Before and after views re review submission - so I'll clarify if this is the permanent criteria with the Admin team tomorrow, ie one review permitted per member per retailer, thanks again for your patience in the meantime :)

always has been 1 review per retailer for me

Just had confirmation back, currently each individual member can leave one review per merchant, so the review submission option box is removed once you have submitted a review for that specific retailer. :)

Thanks for progressing that query for me.

Does that sound reasonable to you/anybody?

I could leave positive feedback for, say, Play.com, as I did previously for one transaction, but I could then have two (for example) subsequent transactions that warranted negative feedback that should result in a single negative point overall from my experience with the merchant.

Thinking aloud... I can imagine that the restriction may have been introduced to avoid the "spamming" of the reviews section with advertisements, perhaps... other than that I am at a loss to understand why a limit has been imposed.

Certainly as an individual member can have multiple feedback comments from another single member from "For Sale / Trade" transactions. It just seems an inconsistent approach.

Are there any plans to review the previous design decision, sigma?

one review per retailer from a person seems reasonable, but only if you can remove the current review to show a changed opinion.
an overall opinion like that certainly seems less work and more easily read than multiple entries.

In my original idea for this, I did mention that it may be an idea to have the ability to vote once every 3 months:

That is a good/better idea than just once.

For example, The GAME Group (Game.co.uk/Gamestation.co.uk/Gameplay.co.uk) have had some bad press in the past (see my "Misc" thread, & the following BitterWallet blog article, for just two examples).

However, in the past two months they have "stepped-up" their customer service. Recently with the Game.co.uk 250GB Modnation Racers bundles fiasco (& ultimate very satisfactory end result), & just this morning I had a good experience when talking to somebody over the telephone at Gamestation.

If, for example, I had logged negative comments (that I have not, but plenty of members have) in the past then I would not be able to credit them now.

Giving a three-month period to allow the retailer to improve is a worthwhile suggestion.

Thanks thesaint.

Did a member of the Moderator team, Admin, or any of the Developer(s)/(Team) mark this thread as 'Expired'?

I added a review for a specific Merchant this morning & unfortunately, in error, did not select the "cold" (negative) option before I submitted the comment (so it was posted as "hot"/positive).

After discussion with juliet_bravo, the comment has been removed, but I cannot add another without the development team's input.

This has been "logged" in the master list of issues but "JB" asked me to add it here so that feedback could be gained on the progress of the request.

PS. Also see recently created Feedback thread "Retailer Ratings"
