The thread is via the Home section of the dell site.
" 305-N06153 Home site"

Tip with dell - play around with the codes, configure it via "tv offers" "advertised models" directly etc, and reduce warranty to minimum.
Dell tend to put 9 differant prices for every model on their site - which one is best depends on the upgrades you want. Customising the cheapest often makes it most expensive whereas choosing the top one and chaning an item or two doesn't. Mikes posts are great, but if making any more than minimal changes such as 9 cell battery - take a look around before you purchase. If you are unsure purchase on a wednesday - new offers come on thursday, and it isn't too late to cancel then if you find a better one, but yours might disappear.

You have to drop the warranty to the 90 day option.

I think you've missed my point.

If you go directly to the Dell website, without going through the link on this forums, then the final price seems to be a lot higher.

Okay. I will try that.

MikeT has had a lot of practice with customising these deals to get them down to the best price possible, and messing with e-codes etc. It's nothing to do with having clicked through HUKD's link specifically, it's about the customisation etc.

So how exactly do you mess around the e-codes, can someone give me an example?

Also emma are you saying that the MikeT deals are already been "messed" around with the e-codes to get the best possible price?

The deals I quote on here are at the lowest possible price with regards to warranty. I dont mess with ecodes ;-)
I pick out the best bang for buck deals from the dell site each time they update the deals. (well I try my best anyway) Sometimes one ecode will look good but by choosing another and upgrading say the cpu or hard drive or some other component a better cheaper alternative can be found. Manipulation not messing ;-)

I think he means.. say a deal is N03578...
you can try N03578A, N03577, N03577A, etc etc
