Where is the suggestion that you have to sell to the first person that offers the asking price? :w00t:
There's been another thread on here about this and the answer is yes of course you have the final say on who you sell to. If someone's refs don't check out DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM.

If however, someone offers £20 and you say sure and then someone says £25 and you dump the first because all of a sudden they don't check out then that is going to be shaky ground. So yes check out and decide if you want to deal with someone but once you've accepted an offer and said they check out then don't drop them for someone else with a higher price etc.

It's common sense really?

On the second question - just make it a term of the sale to say you've got to pay within an hour or a day or whatever you want. Or if you agree and they are dragging their feet and you say please pay by end of day or it's going to someone else then that would be fair too.
I know it's common sense to a point but there is very little of that on the For Sale forum as you know.

Also i'm not on about references, there are just some people i refuse to sell too so that's why i asked. I've always followed the rules on there and don't want to start breaking them now as i'm one of the regulary moaners about people that do. ;-) :)

hehe :D

It's up to you who you sell to however arbitrary you want to be. If your gut doesn't feel right, if you don't like their attitude etc (well unless it was sexist/racist/etc reasons). It just can't be an excuse if you know what I as long as people don't accept someone's offer and then drop them for a higher offer etc.

If you're going to be quite selective just say up front that you are very wary who you deal with and will only deal with either members you know or high feedback members etc
Cheers Paul,

That's what i'll do. It's only a select few members who have broken rules in a fairly big way as i don't want to be seen as a hypocrite moaning at them and then taking their money. :)
