If a member requests thread closure and a transaction has already been completed (ie all that needs to happen is for feedback to be exchanged) then we usually delay the thread lock.
Other than that, if a seller/buyer decides to go elsewhere for their trade then we have no choice but the lock the thread at their request.

Thanks for the speedy reply j_b :)

I understand that you can't force them to sell the item (though that would be entertaining to add to the rules . . . . )

I'm being picky

No.. really?! :-D Honestly if there was anything else we could do of course we'd be doing it. But if a member wants their thread closing then that's that.

In FS/FT? EDIT: Actually, you're technically breaking a rule by not requesting them to be closed when the sale has ended. ;-)

Rules
(8) Please use the 'report' button in the first post to update your thread once the item has been sold, trade completed or if the thread has been left open and dormant. Every thread MUST be expired and closed, this especially applies if re-listing items from it. Use the button to notify moderators of ANY changes. This includes and is YOUR responsibility to make sure we know your thread NEEDS to be expired and closed.
