How is this thread allowed to stay... http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74697

It says its £19.99 but you cannot buy it for that and have never been able to.

Its like me starting a deal for a £5 game and say get this free! When you actually have to spend another £25 to be able to use the voucher.
It does seem a bit misleading. :?
YOU could always 'Expire' the deal, I'm sure you have enough rep.:whistling:

edit,
OR you could click on 'Spam'.

I can expire it but i decided clicking spam would be better, ive done it and i know someone else also but we havent built up enough SPAM POWER!! yet :)

Totally harsh! It can hardly be classed as spam:x

RFM posts more bargain game posts here than anyone and you act as if he's some self promoting spammer

No need IMO

Well i was waiting for this game to drop in price and when i say it for £19.99 i went to buy it and couldn't. V.annoying, if they want to post it for the correct price then that's fine.

And just because i don't like one of their deals doesn't mean i don't/wont like the rest of their deals.

EDIT: Also we only have the option of expired or spam. The deal was never around so it shouldn't be expired. I did give them the chance to amend their post but they just defended themselves instead of doing the right thing.

If we deleted all SPAM some people would be left with no posts:whistling:

Keep up your helpful posts RFM as Im sure they are appreciated by the majority

We have the power to remove the "spam posts" col... and if that means some people have no posts then so be it.

I also appreciate RFM genuine posts, just not the misleading ones.

Thanks Col, i do really appreciate that...... i was actually just posting some other games deals (without the need of spending another £5 to get £5 off, which in my opinion is worth mentioning, wouldn't you want to know that you could get £5 off for spending another fiver) but now it seems that some people think they're too big for the forums.

Ok, maybe the title was a little misleading and i was willing to change the title header, there was no need to end the thread, as other people that are looking for the game would of missed out on the deal.

In the future, i hope instead of ending a good deal, you guys alert one of the mods to changing the title and in return i will be more specific in my titles for all future reference.

I would be lying if i said i wasn't disappointed in a few people :-(

But in this instance, Game ARE COMPETITIVELY PRICED, as mentioned previously, the £24.99 price before the voucher is the cheapest price by £5, so all you have to do to make it even better value than it already is, is add an extra £5 of items and it'll be £10 cheaper than everywhere else and like i also said, you can also receive 11.5% cashback with Quidco and the reward card.

As mentioned you could look at it as some people are saying which is the game is £24.99 plus you get £5 of free stuff, thanks to the voucher.

If people want i could change the title to something like:

Virtua Tennis 3 + anything else that's £5 for only £25 or £22.13 after Quidco and reward card?

What do you think?

I think that the price should say £24.99 but theres no harm in saying that you can also use the £5.00 off voucher when spending £5.01 or more at the same time.

It was a 'genuine' post even if you considered it to be misleading it was still a decent price.

Surely an edit would have been more appropriate than marking it as Spam which it is clearly not.

That's it, end of. The post should have been amended or removed.

Which i gave them the chance to do and they didn't, i agree an edit was appropriate and that is now the action that has been taken.

RFM, you have been around long enough, it's not as if you are a newbie, you know how to post correct deals with the correct price.

Amended yes. Marking it as spam doesn't allow RFM to do this:?

There is plenty of real spam on here without pointing at genuine Hot deal posters.

So much for the 'community' spirit of the site- it stinks:x

Don't see anyone else offering the same amount of consistent hot game posts do you? You would think he would be treated with a bit more respect.

Works both way, you'd think he'd know how to post a Hot Deal by now.
Look, it's sorted now, there is no need to make such a big deal about it. A Mod has amended the title, so Gary must have been right.

Yeah thats useful but not everyone knows that.

If we all just posted sites like that there would be no purpose to the site:?

There is no problem in the change, the only thing that i'm disappointed with is that certain people couldn't just write a PM, which would only take a moment but instead had to create a mob of complaints about it.

I mean, we're all adults here, if you had a problem with someone, would you say, ok, there's a minor problem that could be easily fixed, lets all gang up and complain about it...... i don't know about you, but i'd personally take that person aside and speak to them one on one.

If that's the case, then what's the point of HUKD, there's many different avenues to find deals on every aspect.

I'm sure you've noticed but i've found many deals that isn't on search engines and they normally take a while to upload on there site anyway but i find most of my deals by searching manually.

Post #10 #11 #12 pretty much asked you to change it and you just defended yourself in post #13. You DIDNT change it so thats why it got SPAM'ed. Im not gonna waste my time PM'ing you if your not willing to take constructive criticism.

Agree theres no point in posting every game on HUKD, would make more room for the real HOT deals then.

Is this spam? What if I don't have a phone to trade in? Should the price displayed be without a trade in?

Did I vote it cold, click spam? No.

According to the jurors on this thread it should have been BOTH

Like 99p shipping at SVP? Times 3:?

If this was a supermarket instore deal it would be deleted or grouped together to 'tidy' the forums lol
But there again the site makes no income from instore deals so maybe thats why they get treated as second rate and frowned upon?

Will anyone agree with this? Cause not :)

Hi mate,

I wasn't making a big deal about this, as you can see in the actual deal itself, i did post that i was willing to change the title:

"If people want i could change the title to something like:

Virtua Tennis 3 + anything else that's £5 for only £25 or £22.13 after Quidco and reward card?

What do you think?"

The only reason i'm posting this is because others turned it into a big deal.

I have nothing but the utmost respect for a lot of the people that have responded in this topic and still do and if they did something similar, i hope that i would let them know but without having to create a mob and start a new thread complaining about it.

Thanks anyway everyone....... and i'm sorry if i stepped on anyones toes.... i swear on my life..... there was no intention of doing this. :-(

It would have made more sense to just do it?
A price shouldn't be quoted if it can't be had.

"99p TV"

..."With purchase of £1k stand" would be an extreme example.

Better to quote £24.99 (another fiver off if spending £30 PLUS quidco plus reward card available).

Sounds to me like you have other issues with HUKD that you have just hijacked and used this thread to get them out in the open.

Maybe you would like to take that up with admin or start your own thread?

I think he's making a valid point, at the end of the day, the site has to remain consistant.
The great news is, once the mods realised there was a problem with the post that you lot were unhappy with, they resolved it.

I understand your point, even though i do agree it's very extreme :giggle: as there is only an additionally £5 to add up to get £5 knocked off but i will make sure to post your quoted title if i find another deal at Game or anywhere else with a MOV code.

I'm sorry if you felt that topic was misleading, believe me, i had no intention of doing so and i'm sure you're all well aware, i have no personal gain in doing this, other than to help people.

I'm actually very busy, instead of sorting out the millions of things i have to do before i go on holiday next week, i've been spending hours every day looking for deals, then posting them here if i feel they're good enough, answering questions for people relating to my topics and many others and for what.... so people think i'm trying to trick them.

In all honesty, i do appreciate that you said you appreciate my genuine posts but since when have i been writing misleading posts..... i've been here for a very enjoyable 8 months and in that time, i've literally posted 100's of deals but how many misleading deals that you feel i've made?

EDIT: sorry, this was intended to go on earlier when i originally wrote it but got distracted.
