It's beyond belief Admin that someone would sink to that level...why??? was it a ploy to build rep and then start scamming or simply to get a load of green squares to impress other members?

Most members on HUKD are honest and contribute without a thought for the rep system...and long may it continue.

As Admin points out... only a handful minority went down to the level of mutual rep awarding and creating multiple accounts to boost the green squares.

Dont think anyone is judged here by the number of green squares but from their posts and helpful nature. I personally experienced the latter when I had problems with my PC and received overwhelming suggestions & support from members. That’s the spirit of HUKD & excellent members here !!!

Not much different to the couple of obvious cliques who just rep each other for making 'amusing' jokes and various other pointless things.

I totally agree

I can't say I'm surprised but why? What's the point?

Some people are just very sad.

You do put folk's back up the lad, but you do talk a lot of sense too sometimes, and i admire the way you don't seem to give a so and so what you say, and who you say it about.

There are for sure cliques on here, some folks have very high reps and it's not obvious why. Most of mine, is from a few people, who have very high rep already, and have said thank you for advice/help i have offered but i am not sure why so many have such high rep.

In a thread recently when i threw my toys from my pram, it was commented when i said neg was removed without consultation because:

rayman
It's a good thing it was taken away, as there were quite a few abusing it. At least now people have to complain in a thread rather than not show why they've left reputation...

and yet the irony is, when folks try to say what they like, or get too abusive, the mods delete the comments.

So voting cold is perhaps the only way to register any kinda negativity towards both a post, thread or user, otherwise this place wants to become some kinda purchasing utopia. It's got folks on here who are vocal and polarised but seems that's not allowed.

Artemis, please keep saying what and how you say it. We've crossed swords before, no doubt you will again with someone else but it's better to have the voice of reason as opposed to sheep.

When i dared to suggest about folks being electrocuted for not searching, what happens when i ask for the thread to be deleted? I am told by admin:

Admin
What, and not have the question and answer here for the next person who searches? ;)

and then some of the mods come along and giggle. Well that's constructive isn't it? I don't mind being told to shut up and mind my own, but come on, do it in a constructive way. I am not the only person who's getting bored of the same questions being asked, quidco being the main culprit.

Just to answer your quote which is taken out of context:

Posts are deleted when they become abusive, offencive or repetitively argumentative and inciting or provoking an "angry" response.

Admin's reply was lighthearted and meant more for a :giggle: Which isn't a bad thing is it?

I'm not so sure it was taken out of context Rayman to be fair, i said what i said and quoted your reply, paraphrased as mine was. Oh well.

Well whether it was lighthearted or not, my question is why none of the mods saw fit to say summat constructive, just giggle?

The point I was making, is they're not removed without a good reason, not a crititcism of your quote sorry :)

If I find a comment that is funny in any thread, I'll show my appreciation, regardless of whether it's in the comments forum or in hot deals. I'm not apologising for finding that comment funny.

Oh Emma, i don't want you not to laugh, giggle or anything, but for that to be the only comment/retort/feedback, from two mods was disappointing to say the least, *that's* all
[admin]#12
boydent999 you have to admit that thread was started by you in a light hearted way. Was I supposed to take electrocution of members as a serious suggestion? I'm here for comments, feedback, debate but let's stay reasonable. You can't complain against people not searching and deletion of comments and then complain again that your thread was not removed?

Let's keep the context and keep our heads.

Just add my 2p...

1. This prob isn't a good thread to post - it might give others ideas.

2. Wouldn't it be best to make it so you can only rep someone up to once every 2 months and if you rep them after that it still shows but doesn't add to it?

Fair point but on the other hand it also lets everyone know that the mods are aware and will boot people off the forum if they're caught.

Not a bad idea, 'spose it depends if the software behind the forum is flexible enough to do that.
#15
I think it might be as at the moment you cant rep someone twice within a few days so it must be customisable.
#16
Yes, but then what about really helpful people, or good deal posters - one rep every two months wouldn't be so great.

It would make them help more than one person, rather than brown noseing just the 1 :giggle:
