If Richer Sounds have any problems, perhaps they should take it up with the individuals and not the HUKD website themselves. It's an open forum that can not be moderated 100% of the time.

personally, this only makes me want to boycott them for their persistent nagging

Does it mean they can't take negative comments? They want people to talk only GOOD of them? I see nothing wrong in people talking about their negative experiences.
Imagine what will happen if the littlewoods (very) group takes the same approach. :thumbsup:

Can't they see this is an open forum and the deals posted here do contribute to their sales? I am sure there are lot of people here who takes the cue from this forum and order goods from them. So childish act from Richer Sounds. :x

i think this is what this thread is about.....covering all bases:) i think hukd have a responsibility to some extent

i think they should start addressing the legitimate concerns rather than crying about it imo

Please please remove them from the database, was about to buy a tv from my local in watford. Will never shop their again now. Boycotted for ever along with every single member of my family and every single friend I know. Will also be sending out messages through facebook and twitter.

chill out guys, no need for knee jerk reactions like removing them from the site......re-read the op as its just people making wild accusations by a minority by the sounds of it.......they are a decent, friendly(sic) retailer with some good deals at the end of the day

You did right I think. I was planning a drive to their cardiff showroom to get a bluray player. Am thinking again now. Weather too is not good. May be I will order online.

I bought a sound systen a long time ago from them and an opti lead which broke on first connection - they changed it straight away. Overall I think they are ok.
It would be a shame to get rid of them as is the case with ebuyer :( , shame really that they have to self promote and get banned because I believe they got a LOT of buisiness from here.

If you are writing a comment about a negative experience at Richer Sounds please ensure that you keep it to either substantiated facts or direct personal experience. As long as you write within those guidelines there should be no problems with negative comments.

I have used Richer Sounds a lot and never had a problem with them. The staff at the Sheffield store are excellent and i have bought quite a few bits and pieces, but not anymore you pathetic bunch of *******.

On that £150 bluray player a bit ago I was gonna buy it, and rung the national number - by their own customer services operator's admission there was 1 left in their 1 of their stores - Bournemouth. I rung as soon as I got their crappy newsletters.

Needless to say I won't be buying from them after these pathetic toy-out-of-pram style threats - [COLOR="Red"][SIZE="6"]You pathetic bunch of fools.[/SIZE][/COLOR]

Hope admin sticks to his guns, though i realise he has to post this thread to ensure people are speakng the truth. From my own experiences - I suspect they are.[/SIZE]


So you were late in getting in there when they had a deal on, how is that there fault, the problem should be if they say they have stock, you buy it, (online or over the phone) and then they cancel because they oversold or never had any in the first instance like sportsdirect (ahem)

I am not telling you how to run the site but do you not think that this should have been posted and then locked right away? I think it was very obvious that people were going to post against what Admin has politely advised them not to.

If RS see this thread they might well follow through on their threat. Who knows. Just think it might be sensible.

If it were locked straight away, it would drop to the bottom, and it would be seen by less people.

They monitor the thread, and as you've seen, they cut posts that shouldn't be there.

LOL.... Do you honestly think this wasn't posted to show Richer Sounds:

(a) They have heeded their warning and asked members not to post negative comments without good reason

(b) Shows Richer Sounds that HUKD has the ability through its members to "say no" to future purchases and adversely affect them.

Its no mistake its been posted and what's happened. However, I think its a good thing. When someone threatens me, I tend not to cower, but meet it head on. Not quite what's happened, but not far short.

RS must really consider this a great source of business if they go to the extent of emailing Admin. This might really have worked against them.

Most people are fickle. Are you telling me that if there is a GREAT deal people who have moaned about them in the past wont go for it? Of course they will.

May be the cynical type but:

- Admin haven't quantified how many e-mails were received from RS
- Who's to say there haven't been copious e-mails from other Merchants but Admin has chosen to 'highlight' RS
- Admin and Mods allow libellous statements about people.....why just highlight Merchants

As stated - I rung as soon as the email arrived - however, the bluray player in question was end of line, but they continued to advertise it in future emails - with lower and lower prices. It also got posted on HUKDs a few times - but there was only ever 1 left (I assume eventually the Bournemouth store sold it!)

I know what you are saying, but this isn't just a case of moaning because my local stores didn't have stock. If you are advertising a deal it should be available in a selection of your stores.

I actually have used them twice (Glasgow branch) and the staff there are fantastic - really helpful and informative. One of the clearance offers - a tv - had been put out on loan to a customer due to their tv breaking down.............I was a bit gutted but they sold me the same tv, brand new at the same sale price.

Alienating customers on a big active money making forum, not wise. Would of been wise just to contact and not to complain. 90% of comments left on this forum are either ignored or found out to be untrue. I'm sure the comment in question was uncalled for but this thread has put me off dealing with the company big time, makes me think they truely don't value customer incite.

You are going about it the wrong way then fella :thumbsup: If it was regarding a deal with non existant stock, why not post (within the thread, and on topic - in bold if you really want :thumbsup:) that all orders from HUKD will be honoured ASAP? Or do you not have the stock :p

Or was it to do with something else entirely??

this all wouldnt be a problem if they actually had stock of the items they have on sale.

Countless times ive seen an item i'd like, phoned my local stores and neither have stock, but always offer a "more expensive" alternative..

Dont worry though, as this is only my experience with Richer Sounds, not the majority of people that want something from these "deals"

I’m not sure which deal you are referring to in your post but if you let me know then I’d be happy to look into this for you.

However, I can assure you that the deals we advertise are genuine deals which we do have in stock, either from our stores or in our central warehouse.

Of course, due to the small size of some of our stores and our low prices, certain products can sell out; especially products which are featured in our ad campaigns or the national press, etc. In these circumstances stock is available to order by the store from our warehouse and, in this situation, our sales colleagues should offer to order one for you to arrive on the stores next delivery.

The only exceptions to this are when a supplier cannot fulfill the quantities we require to meet demand - despite our regular requests for more stock – or if a model is an end of line clearance model which, by definition, are finite in supply. In these cases we always clearly state that stocks can be erratic or in short supply.

Please be assured that the last thing we would want would be to antagonise our valued customers by intentionally advertising stock which we do not have. This would hardly be good customer service, a waste of money spent on advertising and we would have absolutely nothing at all to gain in doing so!

On a final note, if any individual forum member has had difficulty in getting a particular product then please send me a private message and I will do my best to help.

All that's happening now is peoples opinions are being stifled and the consumer/member doesn't matter as long as we keep Mr Salesman above happy. :thinking:
