Sort of agree with the OP, if it to be used as a thanking system how are you supposed to know when someone likes your post unless you trawl back through every previous post

By checking (ticking) the "Enable Like Notifications" option in your Profile [settings] tab & noticing the banner at the top of the first thread you read after somebody has clicked the [Like this comment] icon. If multiple people have "Liked" your comment or comments then you see these stacked at the top of the same thread. However, once you leave that thread the notifications are lost.

^^ I have that set but if someone 'likes' it at a later time or whilst on another page how do you know?

As soon as you refresh the page, or visit another thread the notification 'banner' appears (once & only once). I agree; it is far from ideal. A list of "Liked" comments in your Profile pages would be a step forward.

Thanks for that information anyway; I don't think I had that enabled.

Cheers. :D

Thanks. I keep noticing likes while in my profile, and was curious to know which posts were liked.

minor point (as I am not really bothered, just curious) but is everyone elses noitifications working, mine is set to show but I can't remember seeing one pop up for weeks now. The like counter is going up so I know I am getting them.

why would anyone care if some random stranger liked something they wrote?

didnt even realise there was a like count either. Mine is 1118 which doesnt really mean anything to me.

I must admit I think it's nice and courteous to thank someone for helping out on here, I don't like spending 10 minutes trying to find something for another member only for the thread to be never replied to again. You don't know whether you helped for starters or whether your info was correct.

The only part I don't like about the thanks is the count as it is not needed, serves no purpose and could end up as bad as the rep count.

but you dont know who clicked on the like button do you anyway?

^^^ fair point but I thinks it's probably obvious from the info you give who benefited from it, besides if it helps anyone on here it's a bonus. I just think if you are going to have it at have a system that either works well or do not have it at all.

Come to think of it that sums up HUKD pretty well across a lot of features.
