can't agree with that last rule,i think this is why alot of people use here rather than ebay if you take away the right for members to list their item at the price they feel it's worth then they will list on ebay plus it hardly ever goes for the price they list for just my opinon.

But........people list here to avoid paying fees. This forum just here as a bonus and i can see why this doesn't fit into the community spirit by using members to maximise profit.

As you yourself said, there is eBay that can be used.

sure there will be people who disagree with me,take a wii for example i know i have listed one here before but if it is listed on amazon for £500 but on other sites for £179 will it be allowed to be listed at £500???

This has now been added to the rules and guidelines:

This includes mobile phones and games consoles etc.

Why is this, because i'm afraid this is a complete and utter load of ****, you are pandering to the bleating masses on here and it's really quite pathetic...:x

Can you give me a GOOD reason why you have done this....? I doubt it...

To stop opportunistic sellers trying to rip off members. Ebay allows you to list an £1 item for £1000 as they dont care about the buyers as long as they get the share of your profits. We have a similar rule in place already for selling tickets (cant sell above face value) but now have been extended to cover other items too.

We dont say its wrong to sell a £180 Wii for £350.. all we ask is to take it elsewhere :)

As Roy Walker used to say " it's a good answer, but it's not right " how am I ripping people off, if they buy the item they must be happy..? Yes or no..? I am not forcing anyone to buy, just giving them the oppprtunity to buy.

pretty poor really but then again this whole site is going downhill IMHO, editing here there and everwhere, bit of a nanny site really which is a shame..:-(

Sorry, I didnt mean you ;-)

mine was just a 'good' reason to justify the RRP rule.

edi: good idea mate, am surprised it has not been implemented sooner to be honest.
If people want to p[ay inflated prices for stand alone Wii's, let them go to eBay or somewhere else, this is after all a BARGAINS site and most people on here will respect that ideal.
i have NO problem with people selling Wii on eBay for xxx amount, it is expected there, just here is a little different.

if this is in effect now shouldn't there be a mod changing loads of threads around here and just to point out the mods will have alot of work to do to get this into effect. i agree with clarence people have a brain and can make up there own mind and i think we should let them as we are british and i hope the freedom to speech (which also applies on web sites) still stands.
[mod]#9
Freedom of speech on a website is at the webmaster's discretion. You have no rights at all.

is this a fact??? if so i am sure there will be others on here that will disagree, freedom of speech is all we have.we can choose to right profanities but we don't just common sense really not taking away our right, making that last rule is taking away some of our basic rights.

A good way to get your point accross is to be abusive???

I think not.

Why do you need to sell on here? Why cant you sell on ebay?

Also you refer to the masses.... surely in a country of democracy the massess get their way

Freedom of spech blahdy blah only applies to public sites and not privately owned ones.
#13

No, but we have to tow the line with regards to what Paul and the mods want or enforce though or the alternative is as Paul (Admin) has told us...........go somewhere else if you don't like it.

Fair enough though as it's not my site and therefore it's upto him.
#17
There's no point in complaining about this, they don't give a to$$ what you think to the sites rules. You have to put up and shut up or naff off, simple.
When someone has been scammed, this site is so quick to look the other way it's unbelievable, but I'm sure they will be enforcing this new rule. It's giving people permission to thread spoil:- "hey you can't sell your Wii for more than the RRP, I'm gonna grass on ya" by every member that sees a Wii for more than the RRP.

is this like a kid with ball playing football and saying it's my ball i don't want to play anymore???

I think the problem here is not so much the high prices (even though they are taking the pee a bit) but the fact that people are using this forum instead of ebay so they can dodge the fees.

The FS forum was set up for members to sell unwanted items not to make blatant profit from others

You need to use the contact us link at the bottom of the main page so that Paul can decide if he agrees with your argument :whistling:

it's so funny that the wii situation has probably brought up this new rule but how many of you have actually looked on other places like CEX and even they are selling the wii's at more expensive prices LOL just checked and even AMAZON the site that was mentioned here as areference is selling for £339 so is that ok now to sell for this RRP????? here is the link http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h_/026-5948083-4894001?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=wii

well i came on here because of the great UK DEALS and very satisfied with that so far,i like all of the members and even here as a discussion i like that but if a member or a site admin tell you what you can and can't say taking away your basic rights i can't agree with that.i can agree with taking it away for using profanites but come on it's our basic rights as human beings for gods sake

i and alot of others would dispute with ebay i am sure are you referring to the RRP or just a general rule we wouldn't agree with???cos ebay is a auction site and you can charge a million pounds for a wii if you so desired doesn't mean that people have to pay that for it

I'm not trying to get it changed, I'm saying that it's out of order that the Mods or Admin can tell you what price to sell your Wii on here. This is a Community run site, if someone has an item that they want to sell for more than the RRP and someone wants to buy it, for whatever reason why shouldn't they?
The Wii is in short supply, or so I'm told, if people want to pay extra to be sure of getting one why shouldn't they?
Amazon Market place are selling them for nearly £400.:whistling:
It's the buyers who set the price of a Wii, NOT the sellers.

Please don't continue to follow me around like some sad puppy, I've been as nice as I can but I'm beginning to tire of you now, so, pretty please, stop the pathetic attempts to make yourself look clever and get on and save some money somewhere else..

I jwas ust refering to a genaral rule change you may not agree with.

As for million pound Wii... you could put 1 on there for that but you would still have to pay fees for it when it did not sell.

I really dont understand the big problem with just putting it on ebay in the first place surely its easier, it gets more people looking at it and its safer with the so called buyers protection via paypal.

LOL. If you think you have any rights to anything on this site then good luck.

It's Paul's site and if he doesn't want you here then he can ban you and there is nothing in any court in the land you could do about it as you have no rights.
