no why should the ammount of times someone might pick up something they want from another member be limited
banned#2
I'd have to say no. Once its not business like trading then its not a problem.

if you have a zillion for sale threads running at once why not merge them into one.

and looking at the for sale area now one member has 3 on the go at once so everyone elses deals got knocked out, down the list very quickly

Thanks for the replies........just wondered. :)

juts looks like some use this site to sell all their stuff and pile it on and its free to use.. there should be a limit per week of how much you can list.. same faces posting 3 or more lists
banned#7
But if you were to merge the posts they have a tendency to get very confusing with people trying to make deals on different things.

Its not really that much of a problem so I'd say if it ain't broke don't fix it

You have feedback for 155 threads, to some that seems excessive, to others that's fine.
Numbers can be misleading when they are quoted without any real meaning.

Threads with multiple items are worse than the others.

I don't think the forum needs any more rules that are fine in principle, but don't work in the real world.

Why not stick a fee on and call it something snappy like sellyourjunkhere.com

Theres a week limit on posts again and again so tbh thats all thats needed. If you were to stop the lists it would help certain people sell items, mines somewhere near the bottom now. I agree a listing would help to show whos selling items but limiting them has no real point.

Personally I think its a good idea - say 3 concurrent threads maximum, to have many more than that is a bit unfair on others...

I would agree with this too, but it's different to limiting the number of sales you can post in a week (which I disagree with). A max of three open at any one time is a good idea - it would also encourage sellers to close threads that are completed or not selling and have mods lock them.

There is a subtle difference - liddle's saying that a cap on the number of active threads isn't a bad idea as opposed to the cap on the number of threads per week - and we all know how LoM likes his subtlety! :whistling::giggle:

some always like to hijack others ideas and thought with a subtle change here and there, I noted who started the thread and yes looking at whats been up for sale today, I would say cap it to max of three per week.. also how many of those who kick the bottom out of the for sale side of the site actually post deals as well or is it take take take :x

erm ... hold on, let me think about this .... It's because I'm biased ... erm... no, that's not quite right, is it? It's because ... it's because .... [ someone help me! ]

... There it is! That's it! That's what I meant! Saved!

Uh... hold on ... subtlety, eh? Are you taking the plop by any chance? Eh?

In fact, hold on again, are you both taking the plop? :? ~ :-D ~

But earlier it was unfair on the seller if it wasn't business like behaviour.............are you now saying it is fair to limit them and you were wrong earlier?

yes, I was wrong and no I was right, and I was somewhere in between in the middle of the night.

Why change your response? And feedback is for serious issues, hence the thread.

Please none of your petty comments in here. :)

The problem with this idea is the feedback system. Many people create separate posts for each item because they can receive individual feedback. If it's all in one thread, feedback becomes harder.
banned#22
yes i think it should be, i think they should set an amount of live threads you can have running at one time, it may also help with the locking of threads before relisting too
#23
I think that it shoudl be limited to one thread at a time, I think would benifit everyone, less threads means less confusion for both parties.

May be the feedback system can be set up like it is on AV Forumsb that way you can have multiple feedback from the same thread
#24
In addition to what has been said on this thread I noticed today that a particular member has 17 FS threads open within the last 17 hours, surely thats an overkill?????

no feedback on this idea then?

there was something made me want to bump this too today!

AVForums your allowed 1 per 'section' I believe
banned#27
ya know when members put a suggestion forward it would be real nice if a member of the team, or heaven forbid admin himself, could actually pop in and discuss
#28
Ok, my mini opinion on this - yes there possibly should be a limit, but there should be encouragement to bulk list in group threads for items rather than list individual items in seperate threads. In my experience, putting a 20 item thread on is MUCH more trouble than its worth. On 2 instances i have (genuinely and unwittingly) "bumped" 3 times on threads with 100+ replies, with price revisions etc. and have received the relevant infractions/suspensions.

I'm sure its my fault for being human or not giving the internet 100% of my time and dedication, but hey, thats my cross to bear :)

I liked that system. As you could bump as much as you wanted. Well I think, as I was doing. Might been doing something wrong. But only allowed in one post per section meant people would have nice tiday section posts.

there's a 'fair bumpage' policy of twice per day, but it's not a rule as such. Seems to work quite well. It's a bit better that they have seperate sections over there to an extent. But, it does mean you miss out on a 'bargain' as you are only looking in the sections for something you need :-D
