So you think that having to click a box to say you have read them will actually MAKE you read them?

Sorry, your idea won't change anything.
#2
would make no difference whatsoever, people on here are lazy/thick/stupid

they do however seem to wake up quickly when they break the rules and get suspended and post a moaning thread about the mods in misc

At least they can't complain and whinge when suspended and all these why was my thread closed questions .

It won't change anything those threads will still happen, people are lazy and won't read/action things until it affects them.

You only have to see the 100's of why did paypal hold my money threads, even though the 21 day warning flashes before you list and you agree to their terms.

Or all the voucher littlewoods chargeback things, "ohhhhhhhh who reads all the t&c's" even though you agree on ordering you have.

So in short it won't change a thing and people will still whinge when caught out, it's always someone elses fault don't ya know;-)

They should be made to scroll to the end of the terms before clicking i understand the rules box , My other point was Hotukdeals should have a database for sellers Name Address landline phone no and How long they've lived there if not long a previous address , just the 1st time they are about to sell may i add , this will maybe weed out the multi account users and possible scammers .

Still won't change a thing IMO, you will still get the threads, with people saying "It's unfait t&c's, you can't have that", or "Who actually reads all the t&c's". It's as ineveitable as the sun rising.

Every FS/FT thread at creation carries an assumption that the poster has read the rules. There's no excuse and the onus in on the member to comply.

Would you like them to do a credit check and ask for two forms of photo ID too? Otherwise (forgetting any data protection issues - and the fact I'm still waiting for a reply as to if the site is registered as it should) whats to stop people giving false details?

it would be good to get an email when the rules are changed

I've noticed so many members saying they didn't know a particular rule when listing items for sale . I suggest when someoneone clicks the Fs/Ft link to sell a page with all the rules regarding fs/ft should appear and the member must click a box to say they have read and understand the terms and conditions .

I too suggested this a few years ago.
It may or may not lead to the same amount of moans, but I don't see why there is an objection to it.

If there were two tick boxes along these lines.

[ x ] I have read and understood the rules.

[ x ] I have not read the rules, so will accept my suspension without complaining.

It would be even better.

Because it is pointless and would make not one jot of difference, like Skusey said making pics compulsory would stop a lot of this nonsense

I agree with you guv, forcing a tick box will just add another layer and it will quickly soon become a hinderance and be ignored.

Still the onus is on the member to comply, perhaps they could subscribe to the the rules thread. Any changes and it will pop up in the subscription folder. Read once and then review the changes as necessary ?

That said, we'll be streamlining the rules in order to simplify/encourage trading, making them less of a barrier. We're actively reviewing this at the moment. With fo.lk offering a direct photo upload, this may offer us opportunities to review the requirement to provide a pic with each listing. Again, we don't want to hinder 'trusted' members who operate within the existing framework by forcing the issue. If the upload facility is quick and easy, then perhaps there won't be an excuse for not providing. We'll iron out the difficulties soon. I know some members will be fed up hearing the same thing, but we do welcome the feedback.
