Not sure if its a bug but would be useful....

The "text only" option doesn't stay like that, if I go away then come back its back to default, anyway of saving the text only option?
[admin]#2
It should store in the cookie Iom-RF. Are you clearing cookies in between?

if i close page and reopen it it doesnt store, im in iE6 and xp

Nope, i'm not clicking "remember me" which would save the cookie, but was hoping it would save to my account options rather than the saved cookie.

Is there any chance there could be a couple of skins (in our account options) made so I can choose the layout?, the basics of the site as you know remain the same..
#5
How about having a User Guide? I know, I know having any documentation or process is radical but one that helps the user as well?!!?!
#6
The time is also incorrect at the moment, apparently you made this post 7 hours ago, clearly incorrect!
[admin]#7
Added that time bug and user rep to the list.
#8
One thing I did on the new site is to change the thread order to newest first... In your control panel, under Thread Options -> Thread Display Options, set Thread Display Mode to "linear - newest first".

By the way, I didn't see much of the new design until it went live, and I honestly much prefer the new site.

what about al the bugs that everyone posted in the other thread :?

This time bug is a funny one, A minute ago it displayed the time correctly, refreshed and it changed back to 7 hours ago!

Working on the list.. just updating here with the bigger issues and plans for addressing them

"Pages: First Previous 35393101102103 104105113153203 Next Last"

I think having the above with spaces might help a thread more easier to use :D

Why does the Hot tab appear when you are in a thread but not on the main listing in Discussed (and other) section?

It depends which forum you are in. If you are in a forum like Misc or Feedback there is no temperature and thus no Hot to sort by.
#17
Also I would change Discussed to Discussion because a) makes it sound active and b) doesn't sound like Disgust ;)

What I mean is that when you are in a thread of Discussed the Hot tab is present (ie look up at the top now). Isn't this incorrect?
[admin]#19
Ok but you were viewing the thread in All - All I suspect? So All - All has things like deals/vouchers/freebies that do have temperature so it does have a Hot tab. If you were in the feedback forum specifically it would not have a Hot tab (i.e. All - Feedback).

The tabs sort the navigation results.
#20
I would make 'discussed' the default option to be honest.

'All' should show all vouchers and deals... not all other forums information. How many forums have you visited that has such a 'feature'?

TEXT ONLY OPTION SHOULD BE REMEMBERED.

The 'home' page should show only deals and vouchers and should be 'expanded view' by default (I don't want to read any other forums in 'expanded view' - no one does!).

Please please please fix the simple CSS style on the 'pages 12334535' bug!

Also... why not store user preferences in your database, not our cookies. That way, they don't get lost!?

Because many visitors are not logged in?
[admin]#23
talkshop are you getting that all the time? It looks like no images are loading. Can you try clearing your cookies and then reloading? Let me know if that works.

No I am viewing this in All (top line) -> Feedback (2nd line) and the Hot tab is present while in this thread.
[admin]#25
You are very much indeed right. I see. I was looking in the thread list and not inside the deal. Ok - that should be fixed.
#26
Great. I thought I was going mad there.

Also I notice on the first line All Clothing etc. it is sorted nicely into order but the 2nd line it is all over the place.
[admin]#27
You mean it's not alphabetical? It's been put in the order of the old forum listing

Well, make the default options more sensible, as per my original suggestion.
#29
how can u add to rep of OP?
#30
Smileys appear on individual lines.
#31
guys the site no longer works in Pocket Internet Explorer - On a handheld or Pocket PC Phone! doesnt display the text even if i select text only!
#32
Is it possible to have an option of defaulting to hiding the OP on subsequent pages (with a button to view) because while it's a useful feature if you need to refer back, it's a pain having to scroll down past it on every new page - especially if the post is a long one!
#33
Could we also have the option of having the actual date/time posted on the thread index rather than 'hours/mins ago' because when you refresh the page, there's no baseline to take a note of to be able to know how far back you've viewed.

... oh! And a link back to the index at the bottom of each page in a thread to save scrolling right to the top again

... And a link on the thread index page to allow navigation to the first unread post in a thread.

Please?

I hope I'm posting these in the right place.

I'd like this idea too as I have mentioned before........ Don't want to rub it in or anything Admin ;-) ;-) ;-)

I have the same problem

"p.s. you can see a great feature (well we think) which is this post sticks at the top of comment pages so as we update it you can always see that even if you're viewing comments at the end of several pages."

no its a stupid idea, we know what thread we are on. Its just annoying, the whole form system dosent look like a forum. The full first thread preview on the first forum page is the same silly idea, it just dosent work.

you cant even seem to quote the first message so its not even a proper thread

you really need to look at the whole site, and then read about web design

AND WHY IN GODS NAME IS THE REPLY BOX GREY

its just a bad site

Windows xp sp2. ie7

Had problems logging in this afternoon. Started with all cookies etc cleared through CCleaner.
Got the following 2 error messages on different attempts to log on.

Fatal error: in /home/admin/domains/hotukdeals.com/maple_lib/mysql/mysql_connection.php on line 19
Fatal error: Too many connections in /home/admin/domains/hotukdeals.com/maple_lib/mysql/mysql_connection.php on line 19

Stopped trying, logged on too Quidco no problems. Came back and logged in first time to HUKD ??

Regards
#38
You're probably already aware of it but there seems to be a problem with submitting new deals ... or is it just me!
#39
Seems fine here :?
#40
Bah humbug. :x The whole site went A over T straight after I posted in this thread and in the time it took me to get it back working again by clearing my cookies (losing all my markers in the process :x) the deal I was going to post has gone out of stock. :x:x:x
