In theory it's an okay idea. But if you look at MSE, which has lots of stickys, sub forums, it hasn't improved the site [I think]. It's so much better to look down the list in HUKD, choose the subject you want to look at [even if it's a grocery shopping thread ;)]. With the deals floating up + down, it's good to see a variety of deal topics, rather than a single theme. All those sub categories [food, clothes...] would be too much.

The great things about HUKD I think [other than the good people/members/posters] are it's simplicity, it's easy navigation, it's clean + tidy appearance. What sets it apart also, are the missing banner links, pop-up ads, flashing animated gif images that make other sites look very messy. Yeah, they're fun for a while, but they become annoying. I know you never suggested those changes, but more sub-forums at this point, would be heading that way I think.

To put it in one, I'm happy with how it is right now

I agree with rayman, but do think there should be a separate sub-forum for the dell deals, and that supermarket offers should not be posted unless they are exceptional.

The Dell posts can be pretty hot most of the time, so a sub-forum just for them wouldn't be such a good idea. Mobile phones are very popular too + often there are unique deals posted for those too. They are what constitutes a Hot Deal, which is why I think they should all remain in the same forum, but floating, not as stickys.

When other truly unique or very hot deals are found + posted in the Hot Deals forum, they're usually posted on the front page too. That's a portal to the rest of HUKD, thus bringing visitors into the forums. It would be a shame if it all became fragmented in a way that would seperate members, as it might lose the community feel of the site. A lot of forums at this stage could change the original spirit of HUKD.

Just my thoughts :pirate:

That's a good point. People who are only interested in Dell deals wouldn't read the Hot Deals forum, which means we would miss out on the contributions that person makes as the go along in the Hot Deals forum looking for the Dell deals.

Completely agreed, all of the offers posted on the site are mostly good ones, you don't get all of the awful 'offers' posted on here like you do with Rpoints/TheDVDForums/MSE and whatever sites offer lists of deasl. It's best to keep it that way, and all in one forum category (i.e. SIMPLE!) than it is to complicate things and make the good offers hard to find.
