"Big Brother is one of the finest programmes on the television, I don't have Sky or Cable television, so don't get to see the finer offerings available, though I doubt there is anything close to the quality that Endemol and Channel 4 bring to me every evening."

lol
Maybe the best thing on 4, but not TV.

Although I disagree with the OP's choice of viewing, I agree with the suggestion. It's a bit of courtesy really... :)

fom what i have seen, most have thread spoliers in title, yes some may not, some people dont think before they post, by making it a rule aint going to make those that arent aware aware, if you get what i mean

Well, it would mean we would have good reason to edit the OP to remove spoilers...

Should be a rule but I'm sure its always done by accident or in some circumstances assuming people will know (eg threads about Champions League final etc)

what an you need a rule for that - lol

dunno what this place is coming to of late :whistling:

I choose to ignore the non BB lovers, there's no accounting for taste. :-(

Making it a guideline/rule would then make it okay to report a thread that has spoilers in the title/thread.

At the moment, it is fine to do it, and a mod would come under attack for changing a title.

You can't put "XYZ" has been evicted by accident. I don't mean that they did it maliciously, I just don't think they had consideration for others.

The Champions League final is shown live, so how can you have spoilers?

It's not like the Grand Prix where it is sometimes shown later in the UK. i think that this should also be outlawed, as some of the members don't get to see it until several hours after the race has finished.

Exactly. This thread is suggesting that it becomes a rule. :) Although threads would be edited rather than spammed...

Well i'm against it becoming a rule as i've already started writing up summaries of SG Atlantis season 5:whistling: :giggle:

It's usually OK, as long as people don't put the spoiler in the title/OP and put a warning (*SPOILER*) in the title.

Not much you can do about Opening Title and Post, other than tell them.

However, you can use BBCode to have Spoiler tags, much like the quote and url one's, that hides the information contained in the tags until clicked on or highlighted

That's what I am suggesting. As emma pointed out in the post Shengis linked to, spoiling my impeccable viewing schedule is perfectly fine. I understand that Spamming it isn't the best course of action.

You can tell them, but as I found out, you get a load of abuse in return as they think it's fine.

lol.

I would like to second the motion of the thread. Someone ruined one episode of the Apprentice for me.

It is forum courtesy not to post spoilers in the thread title and to make it clear there could be spoilers within the thread although if I did see a spoiler than annoyed me I'd just report the post to get someone to edit it rather than mark the thread as spam.

The point is, there is no reason why they shouldn't post spoilers in the title.

If you report a post, one mod may change it, another may ignore the report, and another may warn you for reporting threads that are perfectly fine.

wouldnt that be the same if you where to spam it? I think most people just dont think, and i dont think a rule would change this, or is the rule so you wouldnt fear the above?

WTF??? Get outta town!!!

They shouldnt be spammed.....IMHO....

BUT

They shouldnt have spoilers in OP...they should start on 1st post....with SPOILER WARNING or something in OP....and should be pulled, edited and reposted by Mods...obvo that requires them to see them instantly....but you get the point

FOR ONCE

I agree with The Saint :?

Disagree with Spamming though

EDIT: This would have to apply to EVERYTHING though....tv, movies, sports, etc

I don't want the right to spam it.

Yes, I don't know if I am not making it clear, but what I want is a guideline put in place that states that spoilers can't be put in the title or opening post. I could then refer members to the guideline.

This won't stop people doing it, but at least I could report the threads and have a mod edit the title/opening post, if the original poster refused to.

At the moment, lets say that I reported four threads that have spoilers in the title, what should happen?

Just common courtesy, if you want rules defining all that you may as well give up now and go elsewhere.
