Not exactly, but you could set up a custom thing to do the same.

In here : http://www.hotukdeals.com/custom-settings . Choose the forum you want, select "new", and subscribe by email ?
#2
Not quite sure what you mean, won't you get loads of email if you do it that way?
#3
You'll get an email for every new thread, as and when it is posted.
#4
You'd end up with a ton of emails every day that way :) So there's no way of grouping all the days new posts and having them sent as a summary email any more?
#5
I don't think that ever happened? Not that I can recall anyway ?
#6
Its probably best to use RSS http://www.hotukdeals.com/images/alerts_rss.gif for what you are after?

I think jah128's suggestion is the best personally... You can also use that feed for custom homepages like igoogle

It's a feature of vbulletin, if you go their forum and click on forum tools>subscribe to forum you can get a list of all the topics posted during that day:

HUKD is based on vbulletin but it's been modified so I don't know if it'll work, can one of the administrators fill us in here?

I preferred the daily email summary rather than continually checking an RSS feed. Is there any chance of you bringing this feature back?

Is there not a site that will combine RSS feed entries into an email??
#11
Has anyone discovered an e-mail digest? I keep on having to unsubscribe from HotUKDeals e-mails because of the sheer quantity, and the RSS feed is something that has to be checked very frequently.

Would it therefore be possible for the system to set up a daily digest containing first (offer) posts? Thank you.

There are quite a few. Here's one of them.

That looks like it'll work well. :)

Have I understood this correctly, that this is something that hotUKdeals could use to combine RSS feeds?

You could set it up yourself. :)

I've had a look at Nourish, and it looks to me as though this is something the RSS provider uses. The Nourish website http://nouri.sh/product-tour/combine-rss-feeds says:

"Combine RSS FeedsYou have the ability to combine multiple RSS feeds into a single campaign. Doing this allows you to combine several low-volume RSS feeds into one consolidated newsletter with enough content to go out on a regular basis."

The 'you' here seems to me to be the RSS provider, such as hotukdeals. Is that the way it works? Has anyone signed up to this, and tried combining the RSS feeds, so can confirm that the recipient of RSS feeds can use it as well as the sender?

You can set it up yourself, as I said.

I'm also able to set one up on your behalf. :)

Thank you for the offer. Could you perhaps set one up on behalf of hotukdeals, so it's available to all?!

Well no, because it'd be your own custom RSS feed??

Thank you for the continuing dialogue, but I'm obviously misunderstanding this.

What I thought we were discussing was the possibility of there being a facility in the hotukdeals forums to ask for a daily digest of posted offers etc., rather than members / subscribers either receiving large quantities of individual e-mails or an RSS feed that is only available on a particular computer.

It seems to me that Nourish is about combining "several low-volume RSS feeds with enough volume to go out on a regular basis." My problem is not the low volume of hotukdeals material, but the quantity.

I assume from the various responses that hotukdeals does not feel it necessary to provide a digest, so if that's the case, I'll go back to my occasional use of hotukdeals - occasional because my inbox gets too full if I subscribe to hotukdeals e-mails :)

Thank you for your help duckmagic2.

Going back to the original question about an email digest, I subscribed to this on the old look forum before it changed and still got it up until last week when my email went down and bounced all it's incoming mails. When the problem was sorted I was still subscribed to the entire forum on my control panel but no longer receiving them so foolishly I unsubscribed thinking I could add add it again and off I go but then I find to button to subscribe once more.

I for one would really like this feature back, it can be found on practically any other forum on the net and its obviously enabled on the server otherwise I wouldn't have been receiving an email at midnight everyday since it changed so it would only need a minor change to the board. I tried the "Send alerts via Email" and you just get tons of them clogging up your inbox and the RSS way is a bit long winded considering the digest feature is already built-in. Being able to individually subscribe to a thread would be nice too.

BUMP!

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but noticed there's still no official answer on why there is no longer a digest available.
