People get warnings.. so those who have been suspended will have done stuff wrong before probs.
banned#2
depends what they have done...though they are vey inconsistent...some will get warnings for what others will get suspensions for

I know someone was suspended the other day for what another member was perm banned for a while back

I never got a warning prior to locking my thread - for selling items over RRP

which as clearly stated it was not the case anyway - I did write that i was not expecting that much :)

Mine is only an example, I see it time and time again People here get different "treatments"

Exactly. Very bias

This thread is lasting a long time:roll: You should use the "contact us" form if you have a problem:)

No, by the fact that they epically fail to notify when they take such action and epically fail to reply your messages when you "question" their "discretionary" decisions.
I rest my case!

Mods are people, peaple are not perfect, neither are they infallible. Also you are posting your "view" of things which is not likely to be the most "unbiased" view. Mods make mistakes, members make mistakes - thats life......

If you have a problem with a specific Mod maybe you should pm admin. Its not fair on the Mods to discuss them in an open thread.

I know it can seem as if we're being inconsistant, but it really does depend on each individual members' past infraction history and circumstances surrounding each infraction given.

Very pleased that good judgement prevailed and the thread has been reopened. Many thanks to Juliet Bravo for this. She/He also went to some lenght to pm me how they decide whether to lock thread, suspend, and so on. They are not rigid rules and yes personal discretion is being used.
Although I do apprecciate and respect the procedures put in place however I would do more so if they were more consistent - as I can see my feelings are not an isolated case.

On a certain extent I do understand that if mods spend a lot of time here, share a big part of time and personal information with other members they may feel obliged and more inclined to be more lenient towards those individuals.

There is always a fine line between business/personal and acting appropriately in each case but this is what distinguishes a good from a bad mod and he/she will be more respected IMO for taking their stands.

I think you may be referring to my wife. She was suspended and incurred 2 infraction points(?) for having multiple accounts after my son commented using his own account about a mod altering a link and then failing to admit that it had been wrong in the first place.
My son has now been banned and cannot contact anyone to prove his case and I have attempted to use 'contact us' and nobody seems to want to reply.
Kangaroo court seems to come to mind and I will probably get banned for speaking out but all this does is stop others from using deals that would have been posted and the banned person just uses the deal themselves, seems a bit counter productive.

I really suggest you read the forum code of conduct. Abuse of the swear filter will be met with infractions.

ok so explain to me exactly how vagin* is a swear word? if thats the case then i guess all those biology text books i have need to go in the bin? oh please

(fyi i didnt add the "a" at the end simply because i refuse to take another infraction for something this stupid! write the word out youself and the swear filter allows it hence it isnt classed as a swear even on this forum such hypocrits?)

And the silence is still deafening, why doesn`t someone reply as this has been ignored through all the proper channels.
Perhaps if we all pretend nothing ever happened it will go away, that is until someone else gets banned for not doing something that they have been accused of.
I wait with baited breath!:santa:The man with the red hat will be here again soon so hurry up.

lol
does that include banning people who have done nothing wrong and failing to do anything when that decision comes into question???

Not sure who you're referring to but please use the contact us form if you have a problem :)

This thread is to discuss how Admin and the team come to the decision to infract someone/ what deciding factors go into that decision, it's not for discussion of individual cases.

My lass (crazyblondechick) was banned and still is for this thread, just because she spoke in it and never recieved a warning to prevent her doing it again (she never knew she wasnt allowed to speak in the "for sale" thread from the same comp!

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/381911/dvd-collection-for-sale-300/

I recieved an infraction from JB above for bumping a thread up more than twice...i dont do it anymore so i think a warning is best...then see how a member fares!!

I think infractions are a good idea, made me stop and realise what i was doing wrong! just wish my lass had been given a warning first

Cough cough !!

saxo_appeal.

We can't really talk about banned members. You know the correct channels for discussing this in more detail. However I will re-iterate that all 'linked' accounts require permission prior to creation and as such certain restrictions will apply to the operation of the account e.g. no cross posting in the fs/ft forum. Warnings are given before account creation, so anyone in such a scenario could not realistically state they had not been warned, nor be aggrieved when further restrictions are placed upon their account
