Next, I have my pages set to seeing 50 replies in one page, when you get to the bottom of the thread and want to return, you have to scroll all the way back up again. On the old site there used to be a button which took you back to the forum you were viewing previously. Now that only needs to be a link, or can I suggest a floating header on the page, where as you are scrolling down the top three bands stay fixed where they are.

Yes! I've asked for this before - all this scrolling down past the OP on each page then scrolling back up to link back to the thread list is so time consuming when you're accessing so many pages.

Can't you press the back button on your browser to do that same thing? I have a button on my mouse that does the same :)

That's OK when you've only viewed one page in the thread but if you've viewed several, that means several clicks or using the little arrow to find the page you want. It also means that the page doesn't get updated so you then have to click refresh if you want up to date details.

Its also a pest when you've replied to a post and then you have to go back through your reply and then refresh anyway :lol:

ok. I may be using the future method of surfing before its time. But you guys need to check out what a mess this place looks like on a smart phone browser.

What with the introduction of the i-phone in a couple of years time browsing by phone is going to be the way forward. Think about it, you are out shopping and want to know that you are getting the best deal for your money, so you whip out the i-phone, check out hotdeals and find the best deal there and then.

The menus at the top of the page are on two lines (ie four bands). And a lot of text overlaps other text. Finally there is am image that masks the whole of the login box. So even logging in was a task.

ah just as I submitted that message I spotted a possible problem. On the old site it would not let you resubmit a message for 30 seconds. Annoying to some, yet on my N95 I found this a blessing. As when I submit a message sometimes, I think its a browser glitch, it tries to submit twice. Now the new 5 seconds rule caught it this time as its early morning, but I have seen it get up to 8 or 9 seconds at slow peak times.

i have to say this guys you really need to lose the 'anarchy' tag line. That gives me a message that this is a deals website that is 'all over the place, a mess'. Now whilst I agree when the site was changed the tagline probably suited, but I think the over zealous, johnny rotten fan, marketing guy has lost touch somewhere around 1982. I'm not sure the reasoning behind a tag line, but just cos MSE has one, it doesn't mean we have to.

OK on the old site you could filter the forum view by order of;
when they were posted
how many posts
how many views
who posted

Its just in the order of last posted now. Thats suits on most occasions, however sometimes I would only want to see the posts that had the most views, or had the most replies. Also it was nice to be able to reverse the order to see the oldest posts or the least viewed. I found this invaluable in the 'Deals Requests' forum as I would always like to help those who had not been helped by anyone, to at least give them an answer and not be ignored.
