Hi trogan698 - we have a policy of posting only by genuinely interested parties. If you see somebody abusing this please hit the alert triangle which you can find on any post and a mod will take a look.

There's interested and then there's interested though. I mean if someone is selling something for £300 for example and someone makes an offer of £150; that's taking the mick, degrades the thread and consequently the forum.

Low ball offers will also be considered thread spoiling - keep them to pm's.

the problem with the " for sale" section...is this.....it mostly ebayers who dont sell there item on ebay, then feel the need to try an off load their item to some one on here,,,i would say 90% of the time

or its this

someone who has picked up something cheap on ebay,,,,then trys to off load it on this site ...for a profit i may add

an theres the usual scamers, who try to sell something they dont even have

personally i think selling on here should not be allowed,as there is plenty of crap auction sites for sellers to trade their wares...but thats just my opinion,i dont want an argument, bitch fight, row, ect ect,,,,just making a point

The for sale/trade section, if it is to continue, should have it's own moderator. Someone who is prepared to put in the effort to regulate and do background checks. I think this is not the 'job' of the current mods, and it shouldn't be either. If a for sale/trade section is to continue, people need to be aware there is a higher chance of being ripped off, conned, etc. People buy things at their own risk, browse the for sale section only if they want to, and should be aware that most of the items will be as robbo says.

The points are a) don't look there if you don't want to and
b) don't expect the mods to do the legwork to check out sellers credentials (rightly so) and
c) you are taking a risk when buying anything there.

I for one have sold a few things. My items sell quite quickly because I realise it's a bargain site and price things accordingly. If you want profit/best price, go to ebay (remember your fees though!)

As much as its useful though, What do HDUK get out of it?, Nothing?

Maybe a contribution of some sort would be a good idea (More so if it needs its on mod)

i have said this along time ago

the sale section needs to be taken off

less scams less arguing less thread spoiling less hassle!

I think For Sale section is great the way it is. Picked up a few things now from there.

If you don't like it, don't use it. Simple.

what about when posters put something in with sily high prices..

then bump it up for days because no one is interested..

just because something cost alot of money when it was bought dosent mean its still worth that.

well if they price their item too high, they wont sell it, their loss
#13
Yeah, The "bumping" up is a bit of a problem, Because one person does it, So does everyone else, Otherwise if you didn't it would disappear off the front ad page.
#14
yep exactly id say 50% items are too high but if the person accepts offers then thats fair.

chill out i like the for sale part of the forum and its very active.
#15
I dont mind the bumping, it soon wares off and you cant be bothered pushing your own for sale back up.

Its really only because you might miss people during the day or night who only come on at those times,
to be honest anyone will try to get the best price out of their item! its only natural.
#16
yeah but u get people saying

oh i can get it here cheaper and here cheaper

u dont go into a shop and say this mars bars 40p

its 39p at my local lol

people just cant help saying it as someone said earlier if u dont like it dont bother just move on

u also get thread spoiling which is against the rules but it still happens
