Maybe it's because i'm the new kid, maybe Iz a bit thick. I've switched back from the new look for the simple reason that there is no drop-down box to filter.
For example, I like to look for computing gear one day but mobiles the next. With the new look it's all or nuffink.
The only choice/filter is for comps, another favourite.

Am I missing something or is this the future?

You can still filter by topic - there is a screenshot which shows how in this thread which is the main thread for discussion about the new look....
