Thanks for replying Paul

This persons has been 'banned', back on, 'banned' again, back on, had FS posts removed and then allowed to post again.
I don't understand what's going on. :? :?

i think buyers should be aware of the risks if the offeders are repeatedly allowed to post,i doubt everyone knows of the sticky to check before buying,

check the list and check the fs/ft and you can see who it is :)

Agreed again, but if the 'offenders' could not post on the FS/FT/Wanted forum, then problem sorted. :whistling:

It's as simple as pm a mod letting them know and a mod will make sure to take care of it. I don't know the background on this but there is no way a mod is going to let a banned trader continue trading.

what an uproar if ebay allowed banned scammers to relist! lol

OK, thanks Paul.

You can chill now, as it's been moved for the time being.

Ok as far as I understand this situation there is nothing wrong going on here.

If you have a problem with someone shill bidding on eBay dinosteveus I do not see that as something preventing a person from taking part in this forum. And yes if someone is interrupting FS/FT threads with posts of accusing others of that nature I do consider that to be thread spoiling.

If you have a problem with eBay rules and accounts then report it to eBay. As stated in a previous very lengthy thread on shill bidding I do not consider that relevant to this site.

If any member has suspicions about someone posting in FS/FT then please contact a mod with your suspicions so we can look into it. We are not here to vet every member posting on this forum but where there is clear evidence of a bad trader we will take immediate action.

Thanks.

is that not what the sticky is for?

traders to avoid? so even when on the list, they can post fs?

This site is going down the toilet. It was once a nice community and now it's grown it's become "not our problem" the more it grows. So Admin, basically what you're saying is - if someone was to steal from a shop etc, then that's fine as long as it's not your shop someone's stealing from?. Great attitude, and it's that attitude that is making this country anything but Great. (and this site now apparently).
#20
We've had this chat before with Admin. It will get you nowhere.
I had 'other' things mentioned like 'Speeding tickets', as if. What a person does on ebay has nothing to do with HUKD blah blah.
It's not worth the grief you get from Admin to carry this on.
#21
Looks as though that other thread's been pulled, wonder why? :?
#22
you are probably right, but what when a member has been ripped off and it could of been avoided??

it'll be i told you so's....
[admin]#23
Syzable we have to be reasonable in how we manage this site. In the past discussion I used the example of parking tickets. Parking without paying is definitely an offence and I am sure many members of this site have been found guilty of this. I am not going to vet everyone for parking offences before letting them on the site.

In the case of shill bidding I do not see it as directly relevant to this site. I see it as possibly a character statement, as is a parking offence or unpaid council tax, but not as something that is directly involved in judging someones merit to participate here. Further in this specific instance it was not a decision even eBay had made. We can't be involved with policing eBay and then making decisions for our site based on our policing on eBay.

I fully understand that eBay traders are very serious about shill bidding and so forth and I don't mean to make it irrelevant. All I am saying is that I do not see it as an offence that we can police or vet for participation in the forums here.
[admin]#24
While on the topic - here's another scenario. What if there was an eBay account which could be suspected of shill bidding but had 100% feedback over five years on a variety of items etc. - compared to an account with no suspicion of shill bidding but a 95% positive.... So should the possible shill bidder be banned in favour of the probably not shill bidder? Personally I say I would take the shill bidder as you can't shill bid on HUKD and they are guaranteed to complete/describe the deal properly.
#25
Fair enough Paul, so why remove that post? Why not just remove the 'evidence'?

edit:-

I didn't actually remove a post - mods may have? I'm just talking about the relevancy of shill bidding and my decision in that area.

Fair enough, but i do think that when Steve or someone else points this fact out in the FS/FT section then it should be allowed to remain as it helps any potential buyer assess the likely risk involved as the seller has already proved themselves to be dishonest in the past and it in no way stops the buyer from doing what they want in the end but just gives some guidance. But it's not my site and i don't make the decisions, but wanted my opinion to be heard (as everyone always has a different one, lol). Thanks for replying.

Admin
as you can't shill bid on HUKD

Scenario:

1) Mr x puts an item, lets say some golf clubs for sale in the FS section for £30
2) Mr x creates another account, Say Mrs D, and in that thread somebody has already said £25 as an offer
3) Mrs D says "i'll pay £27 for those clubs"
4) Someone puts an offer for £28 in
5)Mrs D comes in again

It can happen! ;-)

Come on Paul, the Mods work for you. They remove posts with your 'permission.

Anyone posting should give a yes, no, not sure response but any auction style responses are frowned on. I haven't heard of it yet but if it does happen I would like to know and can make a rule on that. Any high initial asking prices with ONO etc also shouldn't be allowed on the forum to prevent this.

I set up guidelines and advise but I don't yes/no every thing! In fact I yes/no very little. If you want to let me know details I can look into things.

another point i was trying to point out was it looks as tho he is trading in these, i thought the forums here were for private sales only?

It's okay.
I'm getting fed up of all the grief and hassle I get when I speak my mind. It's not worth it anymore.
#33
I removed the post and also gave permission for the person to relist the item. They've been told that it's okay to sell one only [as we do with PS3 sellers for instance] and that it mustn't be listed elsewhere whilst listed here.

Yes private sales only. If you see anything you think suspicious on this or any thread please pm a mod with your suspicions so it can be looked into. I know it seems HUKD is being set up as not caring in this thread but we do take any pm very seriously and we do end up removing a lot of threads based on tips from members about suspcious activity.
