Well. Thing is we had it by relevance but everyone was complaining so we switched it back to the old site way of search which ordered by date posted...

ok.... can we search for a phrase like "ipod touch" - i get lots of iPods and lots of Touches but not iPod Touch?

Thanks very much for the reply

i found this thread searching ipod touch

In advanced search mode you can search titles only - which gets more ipod / touch related deals.

It would be good to have more power in search terms; for instance search for multiple words (e.g. ipod+touch) and even be able to quote words to exclude partial matches (e.g. "pod" would not match on ipod) etc.

P.S. I still miss the old site - but am slowly getting to grips with the new - I do wonder how accessible it is to new users as I was finding deals quickly and easily on the old site after a few minutes access and it's taken me hours to even partially understand the new site.

I think it's ok to tell you that admin is working on something along those lines at the minute.

Searching for +ipod +touch works fine for me, only titles with both those words were shown.

I think you're right richie :) Admin may have updated that but not told us yet :D

Boolean searches should work now. If you use + it has to include that word, if you put - in front of the word it will only find deals without that term. So +ipod +touch will find anything with ipod and touch, +ipod -touch will find anything that mentions ipod but doesn't mention touch.

Thats fantastic! Thanks very much

I guess I should make a separate post to announce that as it's pretty important

Good update but ordinary users should be able to explicitly state this behaviour, why not a drop down to say "some of theses terms" and "all of these terms" ?
