  It's not voted for - if there's someone you really think deserves it email in and explain why. Also just because someone isn't included this week doesn't mean they won't show up in a future week.

  is there a chance that you could make it easier for someone to email community news?
  
  i know this sounds lazy but i cant be bothered to open up my emails and would rather send something to you in the same way i can using "contact us"
  
  It may just be me being lazy after a long day but perhaps more people will contribute if its a little less effort....anyway if anyone who has a say in the vip vote is reading then i nominate painkiller who whacks out comp threads day in day out and doesnt ever get any well deserved recognition imo.

  Why not? Who advised you that you cannot name who you consider to be a worthwhile "VIP"?
  
  If you (or indeed anybody) did name a member others could "Like" your comment & that would also address acecatcher3's suggestion above about the provision of a method of voting without using e-mail.

  hmm...but 'like' doesn't necessarily mean 'helpful' which is what i think VIP is. like people who post really useful deals, or like when barky offered to babysit next members kid so that the member could be at his wife's side during labour!!!

  You may have missed my point. Sorry if I was not clear.
  
  If you consider barky to be a worthwhile member who has been helpful then you would add a comment to this thread with your suggestion.
  
  Other members would add their approval with a "Like" comment.
  
  This would then indicate to you (& to the site staff) that barky is highly regarded & may influence the decision in one particular week.
  
  It is another method of voting. The decision to whom is included in the newsletter would still be based on other factors too.
  
  Why did you think you could not name your suggestion though?
