I think I know who cooled down my budweiser deal?
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/288879/budweiser-beer-15-x-300ml-7-99-some/
It might not be much of a deal to some but Buds normally retail at over £2 - sometimes over £3 per litre and as it ain't posted at a better price than £1.78 per litre on hots at present, then it's a deal in my book.
If I am looking for stella/bud/malt whisky/laptop or whatever - my first port of call is hots - looking for the best price. OK I could go to a supermarket comparison site but this is better IMHO

so I am Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz too I'm afraid. Too many rules/protocols.

I'll just be happy if they ban people that post petrol price updates as deals :)

Yep, I have to agree with you 100% on that one.

I thought that the generally accepted way was that you vote a deal hot if you think it's a hot deal, you vote a deal cold if you think it's a poor deal, i.e. you know that you can get a lot better or a lot cheaper elsewhere. If you do vote cold for this reason, then it would be in the spirit of HUKD if you actually let the other users know where it's available cheaper or better.

Merely because you don't think a deal appeals to you or it is not a particularly great bargain is not a reason for voting it cold. Just don't bother voting at all is probably the sensible thing to do. :whistling:

Me too.

Back to your question though, it seems that you've been tagged as a serial cold voter hence the reason you have to make a comment as to why you voted cold. Just roll with it and enjoy the fights

My points exactly in my quoted post.

I get the impression that OP vindictively voted my post cold - not because he knew of a better deal.

Takes all kinds...........

Think he just enjoys a fight and rocking the boat?

Agreed - it's lovely cold or ice cold. Better than "bud ice"

Wife beaters are cheaper though and similar strength. Real Ale:whistling:

There is no "proper" reason to vote cold, some members believe it should be on price alone, I don't agree.

If you read this thread, you will find that it's the best price available by far, but does it deserve to be over 500 degrees?

Just like the Curry's threads where the price is fantastic, but no stock available for 99% of members in their area.

The voting system is a bit of fun, and not much more than that.

The problem is your trying to specify/quantify the context within which a 'deal' is considered a 'deal'. The word 'deal' is ambiguous for a reason - we all rate and quantify value in different ways to suit ourselves.

For example: Just because a competitors' price is very close to the price a member posts for item A doesn't mean it's a cold deal per se. Neither does posting a cheapest by miles price on item B make it a definate hot deal.

Some items get voted hot on here, when I know for a fact that the 'deal' in question is so expensive that realistically nobody who votes on the deal will be able to buy the said item anyway.

I personally don't value cheapo packs of mousse as hot deals under any circumstance - but neither do I vote cold.

The trick is to take the voting system for what it is - a bit of fun with many conficting (often hypocritical) results. Though in the main I don't think the HUKD members as a whole do a bad job of sorting out a hot deal from a cold deal.

You've obviously had a few bad experiences and wanted to get them off your chest - job done.

A deal is.....what you make of it :)
