Wanted ad rule?
I recently posted in misc about this and it just ended up an ar.se of a thread. So in all seriousness. People compare ebay prices at all times in the fs/ft forum. I see why the rule is there, unfair bumping. However if someone says, "ok i'll sell you this phone for 150". The buyer goes and checks around and see's he can get it cheaper on say ebay. Comes back and tells the seller no sorry too high can get it cheaper on fleabay. I see this all the time. Isn't this unfair bumping too? Comparing ebay is the same as comparing another site surely?
So basically if a mod sees unfair bumping he can lock the thread. That would be fair and i've had it happen to me before(for just answering members who wanted to discuss phones and such). I quickly learned my lesson and don't answer unless its specific to the sale.
However not being able to buy something off a different site at the same time is unfair. What if i wanted 2 phones of the same type? I put the same ad up on two different sites. That would be locked?
Also anyone can break this rule by creating a different username on another site?
Please serious input. No mod hating.

I'm not out to blame anyone. I agree with most of the rules but just maybe suggesting this should be changed. Simply locking threads for unfair bumping would sort this rule out.

sometimes common sense has to kick in, the police enforce laws, doesnt mean people dont get away with breaking it, the rules are there, the fs board is and has always been self moderated to a point, meaning moderated by members, or wannabe mods some call them, although they dont seem to call them that when they stop someone being scammed
I'm all for that but so so so so so many people get away with such things as placing a wanted ad two places at once. Whats the point in having the rule. Anyone can and probably does break it. No one is gonna get scammed with this rule.
I think the unfair bumping rule should cover this rule. After all thats why its in place. Its not there to stop anyone getting ripped off. Its a case of being fair. Whats also not fair is not being allowed to shop around for the best deal.
