What would constitute "volume trades" in this forum?

osxosx

Not sure what happened but it seems that my original thread has either been deleted or moved somewhere where I cannot find it.

In summary after many pm exchanges a difference in opinion with the mod ScottishBloke is currently reviewed by the admin(s) about what would constitute volume trades.
In the meantime I would like to hear your views about what would be considered "volume trade" in this forum. Would you agree with the following rule?

"Selling more than two identical items in a three month period may be classed as bulk sales, and is therefore not permitted. Likewise, significant volumes of the same item type being offered may lead to a trade restriction."

Hi again. You are a volume trader. A volume trader is you. Exactly how many graphics cards have you sold in the last year?

Yes, I would agree with that rule.

Thanks. It seems that some people don't like freedom of speech. Would be interesting to know if it was an admin who made that decision.

As I mentioned in that thread, there is only one Admin.

realblender also mentioned he marked the thread as "spam", but it takes more than one member to confirm that the thread is considered as such.

As I reported in that thread, I spammed it because you decided to create a thread for random bitching in revenge for a disagreement with a mod. You should have really have just addressed the specific issue in the first place.

Have a look for yourself. I know it is confusing when you are using multiple identities

Personally I can't see any issue of having a general thread instead of many small ones. Still I am concerned about the way disagreements are dealt within this forum as I haven't seen any admin involvement up to now.

Having a look and don't see anything. Probably one sold here and a couple sold to friends. If you had 2-3 PC's how many cards would you change in 1-2 years for example?

The mods are "paid professionals" so not just random trolls (like fanpages) trying to annoy you. You seem to have had lots of communication and had the problem escalated. If you want to bitch about the mods, start a thread in misc section and see what happens ;)

    How many were sold?

Its your thread, do some work. Count individual items by type .... laptop, graphics card, desktop that you have listed (not necessarily sold). And then ask if it is unfair ? If it is unfair, I am sure admin will refund your subscription to hotukdeals and sellers fees

Everybody makes mistakes including mods and it is important that everybody is open about any issues.
If we used your criteria what should the mods do with members with 100+ feedback from trades? That would certainly indicate volume trades according to your criteria, wouldn't it?

    osx,

As stated direct to you, it's not just about the volume of sales. It's also to do with the total numbers of items offered, laptops/pcs/graphics cards/etc.

This isn't a court of law and the rules aren't to be considered as a challenge to breach.

If you want to go all technical, I could impose a full trade ban for the advertisements which are still live elsewhere (whilst listed here). However we'd rather members respected not only the rules here, but also other members. Therefore we're taking a balanced approach which hopefully suits the majority.

I agree but I think you are wrong in this occassion. Is the total number of items offered here less than what I have offered for example? This is a random sample and I can go on if you believe that these do not represent higher number of offered items.

    Hi,

Again you're skirting around the issue here - If you wanted to elaborate on the source of your items and divulge if they are business related or not, then that may have helped us form a view. The fact that you chose not to, leaves is with little option.

FYI: "Maximum of 3 threads for all of FS/FT"

(I raised similar concerns about one of the members you mentioned from comment #108 onwards)

[EDIT]: I see realblender mentioned this too! :) [/EDIT]

Really? I saw no evidence of that being the case after I raised the concerns.
