then you cant sell, easy peasy lemon sneezy

Personally I think you'd end up with a lot of people just shoving in stock images and pictures that wern't their own, and there wouldn't be an immediate way to regulate it.
#11
Well I've sold a lot of things without pics and got some without pics. Plus emasu raised a good point.

one easy way to regulate it is lock a thread down with no pics ( or stock photos), no questions asked, lock and state it cannot be relisted for 7 days, see how fast people catch on, pretty fast i reckon

I don't see the point some items don't need pictures.

Dont agree, surely if you were looking to buy an item you would prefer to see what it looks like?
Sure, DVD's maybe you dont need to see a pic but what harm would it cause if you had to post a pic?
If you want to post an item on here you should need to upload a pic

not if you put your username on it as requested?

Tbh if a scammer wants to scam , they can still scam. For example i own a iphone 3g i take a picture with my username to show i have it. This doesnt stop me from scamming still.

posting pics isnt about scammers, its about people not posting pics cause they know it will get bumped y someone asking for pics, then get bumped when posting pics, it also stop people receiving other that what they thought, take the bed linen thread as an example, no pics posted, cost the op £9 to post, and now buyer wants the seller to pay the costs to return the stained bed linen, had pics been posted this wouldnt have happened

yeh valid point. But if pics are posted furthur on down the line the mods automatically count it as a bump:thumbsup:

after someone has taken the time to report it, then a mod has to take the time to sort it, the other way means, no time spent reporting and no time spent with mods dealing with it, i think elimating any forseeable problems is better than dealing with them

The problem I can forsee hapenning is that if a lot of people can't be bothered to use their own images, it will take time reporting and will take more time with mods having to force users to upload a photo of their own onto the page.

If that stream went on continuously, we'd have even more locked and bumped threads on the first page of FS/FT wouldn't we?

I also don't think that people would catch on, because if you look at some threads now you see that people just do not bother reading the rules or other threads anyway. There will always be members who are new to using the forum, so we might end up in circles. However, I think more people might take notice if you posted the big stop sign and accompanying text on the main FS/FT page(s), rather than just at the top of threads.

I personally disagree, i dont think anyone who cant be bothered to fulfil a few categories to list an item should be given the time of day, just lock the thread, people will soon get fed up of not being able to sell, after all that is the idea of their threads
#25
It should be up to the buyer whether or not they want to complete the purchase. If they dont feel comfortable then dont purchase the item? seems easy.

I reckon the sticky'd thread should be back at the top again.

easy peasy to say, till the buyer then starts complaing and wants a refund because item isnt as they thought, and the seller then has to refund, because it doesnt ook good on them, anyway we could go round in circles, i personally think they should have to post pics and if not thread should be locked, but thats only my opinion and we are all entitled to one, so will leave it at that

Surely if anyone has anything to sell on here they can very easily take a picture of the item?
To me it isnt rocket science to do??
I personally think it would benefit the whole procedure, how many for sale items do you read with the next post asking; Do you have any pics mate?

Cheers for this Skusey, are you meaning a space in the opening post (ie bigger than the current one)?

Or are you just making the point that it should be mandatory to have a pic prepared when submitting initial thread?

When listing an item for sale I would suggest a space for a pic to be uploaded and maybe the pic can be enlarged on the next post or similar.
Just find it annoying as so many request are added for price/pics etc
