Hi the thread example you've used you've opted for 40 posts per page and currently there are only 30 comments so there is only one page. The 'top comments' are highlighted thread comments that have the most likes and this block is shown above the start of the thread.

If you change comments/page display drop down to 20 comments then pages is displayed. Pages only shows once you have more comments than the display options so 21+ / 41+ / 61+

To be fair sigma, OP may not have opted for the site to show 40 comments per page. The default was changed to 40 some weeks ago as opposed to 20.

With that in mind - is there any way to change the default comments per page on a mobile browser as the option to change how many comments per page disappears when using smaller screens.

Hi the app currently uses infinite scrolling rather than a fixed page view by design. But once you scroll down using a smaller mobile screen for example the page numbers will appear along a grey floating header that also includes the latest page number on the right to jump to most recent posts so you can still jump to various points within a thread discussion.

Hey sigma. I am talking about viewing the site on a mobile browser, not the mobile app.

In your mobile web browser of choice, you may use one of the following links to set the "posts per page" to the required quantity (20, 40, or 60):

Cheers FP.

There is also a workaround with Firefox, but that involves messing with the settings so that the website displays as it would on desktop and changing the default from 40 to something else and then messing with the settings again to revert it back to mobile view, but that takes time and I don't particularly like Firefox's mobile browser.

It doesn't necessarily bother me that I can't change the default comments/page when viewing on a mobile browser, it was just something that I had noticed after the default changed from 20 to 40 a few weeks back. It seemed odd that they would make that change and then not add a function to allow people to change/change back to their preferred number of comments/page.

Thank you. I didn't see this option. So I've not changed it, maybe the default has been changed.
Oh I see it has :)
