HUKD did announce on facebook that Debbie Reynolds had been taken into hospital. It's just posting for the sake of it. I, and I'm sure the vast majority of other facebook followers, follow HotUKDeals on facebook for alerts on deals... that was after all the premise of their invitation to 'follow us'. Had they said 'Follow us on facebook for deal alerts and info on sick/dead celebs', I'd probably not have bothered. I already follow news outlets for the latest headlines.

It's simple. If you don't like what members post, don't look on Facebook.

It wasn't members... it was HotUKDeals, directly posting it.

I hadn't even realised they did this.

Seems like they are jumping on a bandwagon.

surely anyone following is doing so for the deals

How odd if this is true.

It's almost spamming their own feed with unrelated stuff. Sky sports news wouldn't even drift off target and post about the death of a non sporting related celebrity.

Very strange. I would have raised this issue too. The fact that the news has probably already been reported by all the local and national papers social media before this, plus television and radio coverage, they aren't exactly the ''go to'' news source.

If they post it for one celeb, they have to post it for all? what is the point when the page is specific to finding deals?

Hi :) The Facebook page can include a few different things such as product recalls, business news (hacks/administration notices), organisation strikes etc. At the end of the day HUKD is a community and Facebook is a social/community platform too so I don't really see any harm in this kind of thing.

If you want just deals and absolutely nothing else, you'd probably just stick to HUKD. If you want deals, discussion and a bit of light humour from time to time you'd probably really enjoy the Facebook page.

Any other feedback about the page, feel free to drop the social team a message on the Facebook page.
