yeh, definetly needs to be looked at.

Hmm!!! Shouldn't you just bump the above previous threads to raise voice than just creating a new one???????:whistling:

Lol!! likewise people pay more attention when it is a new thread, esp with thumbnail pics.
i happened to list items in bulk and then hardly people replied. Then on i started selling one by one, and sometimes do get better replies.

If the item is not appealing, it's not going to sell! Be it in a single thread or in a bulk thread.

I'm also finding that some sellers do not update their threads as to what is sold or not and I'd rather not trawl through the posts working out what's left!

It does strike me that the solution would be so simple and fair to everyone - no more than x (5?) active threads FS threads at any time. Yes, it would be another rule, but it would be a fair and reasonable one...

[ It would also encourage people to close and lock finished-with FS threads to ensure they didn't exceed the 5 'open thread' allowance - another bonus...]

Very good idea, unfortunately it does seem to work better when you list individually but have a limit of 5 or so and having to close down each thread in FO.LK when its done would be a good idea

i put up a Next jeans in a list of trousers and listed twice and wasnt sold for nearly 2 months. then once gave a try by putting it on its own, and then it got sold straightaway. i know its just my thinking but it worked.
And also becos i hate to look through the number of things when a person is selling in bulk and sometimes just dont bother. but if i like the thumbnail image, then i atleast open to see whats in it for sale!!!

Its like a free ebay looking at the the fs forum ,

I think something listed individually almost certainly has a slightly higher chance of selling - which is why a system where the user can have 5 active threads would be fairest. That way, if they have say a dozen things to sell, they can choose to either list 5 individually and wait before listing the others, or choose to group some things together...
#10
if you only have 5 active and then something sells quick like alot do would that mean you could expire that one and have another one opened straight away ? if that was the case would it make much difference.
unless there was a limit to how many you can list in 24 hours etc,
i prefer to see them in a single listing that way i can ignore it or look at it by just seeing the title , when there is too many things in a thread i think it gets bumped up alot more than a single item in a thread sometimes they have like 40odd replys where single ones dont have so many so dont get bumped so much

Yes, it would still stop someone having dozens of open threads - the old threads would be expired so hidden from the list (provided people were using 'exlude expired').

ok i see
suppose it would be a fair way to do it then if you did want to list 1 in each post or 20 in each its upto you :-D

do you not think that way people might cram loads of items into 1 thread and it be bumped up all day with questions on different things ? just a possibility

Possibly, although such behaviour already falls under the bumping rules if not done fairly - and this would still be a single thread being promoted, rather than dozens.

one user has just posted 20 ish threads in the space of the last 20 odd minutes. Its verging on the ridiculous that many active threads are allowed.

maybe its beacuse they have 3 bumps. i suppose untill they have used them up they have done nothing wrong, it will be classed as bump 1 untill they actually do a bump and write bump 1 then they have done wrong
if not i have no idea ??
#20
i prefer to add items individually, i prefer to look at individual items as well so much easier than trying to sort out items and prices just my opinion

to be fair to that user they actually havn't done anything wrong, they've at worst just used one of there allowed bumps for each thread. in theory they could bump all their threads at once and take over the first 2 pages.
banned#22
they are all at it now, it started with the odd user and now most have joined in, most show no consideration for others so the rest have thought sod it and gone with the attitude if you cant beat them then join them

Is there a way you can check what items you wish to look at? such as when you list you can list under clothes.kids etc can you search just for the particular items, for example i just tend to look at clothes as i'm not really interested in computer bits etc so can i just search for clothes?

it doesn't matter if you start excluding categories froom your view as all the other clothes threads are still being pushed further down.

across the top of your page you will see topics, hit clothing, but some people do list under the wrong sections, so some may list under kids, i have even seen clothes listed under nonsense, but what you are all doing with all these threads is totally unfair on other members who actually do show consideration to others
#26
i click fs on the tap at top then click clothing or kids what ever i want to look at they about all i use and i find its ok to do that, but i see the point of everyone listing single items it is getting mad

why not show a bit of consideration for other users by listing similar items in one thread,?

no one should have to exclude clothing just because you list 20 or 30 items of similar clothes per day,its common sense and a courtesy to other forum members

yes but you know as well as I do if it was not mentioned here they would have taken 3 bumps as well as adding pics......its only because it was picked up as a mass of threads were created by that user peeing everyone off that they probably wont

where have I shouted?

I have no desire to PM you whatsoever, you would probably try and sell me some kids jeans

I would prefer if you never posted anything but thats not going to happen

You are ruining the FS section for loads of regular users with your selfish attitude....utterly pathetic

Everybody is sick and tired of you spamming the forum with your £2 crap....loads of your mates have cottoned on as well and are doing the same...again utterly pathetic selfish behaviour

Why not take them to a charity shop and give something back for a change?

There are at least 4 threads in feedback in which you are constantly being mentioned, maybe take the hint or are you that thick?

Worth a suspension as I am only saying what everyone else is thinking

No reflection on any member, we'll have to give this a little more consideration it seems.

in all honesty it didnt used to bother me i think things do sell better that way but when you take notice it does happen ALOT now much more than a few months ago, i think 5 active threads at a time would be a good idea

Crap to some, treasure to others....

Anyhow, we'll have a review on this. I don't think names were mentioned earlier as it's not really about one user in particular. I've seen this point raise it's head many times, so much that I do believe we have to give this a little further consideration rather than highlighting to members on how to ignore such listings.

I added the pic on later as i had to go on the school run as i was late that was all sorry it bothered you that much
