Apparently people get scammed for them
I think(not sure tho) the 7 day rule is to get people to read the rules before they post,so if the break the rules they have to wait 7 days.
People were profiteering with vouchers and scamming so it's now only like for like trading.

The 7 day relist is the standard else people would lock threads when out of bumps or have it locked when rules are broken etc and then just start a new one which defeats the object and would lead to threads constantly being bumped down.
As above really, there are several reasons but Syzable, barky and thesaint have summarised them pretty well there :)
is 7 days really not a bit harsh?

is that not for excessive high amounts though

It's the same for everyone though and is about right as it gives other threads a chance. Also people scam any amount..........currently there is someone who has dissapeared after doing small transactions.

look at the end of the day i think some of the fs/ft rules are strange. But its someone elses house here and they make the rules. If you dont like dont sell or trade!

is 7 days really not a bit harsh? I understand rules are rules but we cant be expected to read every single rule, as i am sure when you have bought a house, or taken out a new phone contreact the last thing you do is read all the rules.

If you don't read the rules then you have to face the consequences, a bank or phone company is not going to waive a penalty charge or condition because you've claimed you couldn't be expected to read the rules of the contract.

Another reason for the 7 day rule is to prevent people posting the item in misc asking for possible pricing. This can be seen as generating interest and we dont want misc being abused any more than it currently is lol
