because its them there rules

everytime someone posts within your thread they bump someone elses down the board when infact you may not even sell it here, also they see it as why waste members time when it could be sold in the mean time

Thanks for your post.

The forum rules are quite clear but to help understand them perhaps consider this scenario. You are negotiating the sale of one item on two different forums and each set of members can only see half the negotiation. At some point you may agree to go with one seller from one forum - and then all the posts made on the other forum become redundant, all the other member listings that were bumped down the trade forums lost their place at the front unnecessarily.

Its also quite a common rule - AVForums have a similar listing criteria.

You are also advised to read the rules prior to posting - this particular rule is listed on both fo.lk and fs/t so you should have been aware of the rule prior to submitting any listing.

You cannot list items on Fo.lk if you have a live listing for the same item elsewhere.

You must NOT list your items for sale or trade here if they're listed elsewhere, this also applies where you have more than one of the same item being offered and includes 'Request' or 'Wanted' threads.

Also not forgetting the fact you could see it multiple times across a range of places.

That's fine but I don't believe eBay,Ebid,Amazon,Play,Sheffieldforum, admag or other places have a similar system. If it's because you don't charge a fee then I think you SHOULD start because I'd sooner do that then this.Sorry

Pretty sure Ebay/Amazon/Play only legally let you list the item if you are clear of the fact that if it sells between the time you listed your bound to selling it there and subject to fees.

If you sold it elsehwere and left the thread open here it would most likely get bumped and bump other threads down the board.

Just list in one place if you don't get a sale go elsewhere then come back. It's free to sell here and I use this and another forum for free with minumal constraints or whine.

Just before you go selling :)

Read the rules found here, save you getting a beating later on.

Few rules that are always missed are the 7 day ruling on listing (expiring and renewing at the correct week period), and mainly missing the full ruling on obtaining details of both buyer and seller (contact number, address and name).

You may find people blunt here when it's in regards to the FS/FT ( Alot of scammers of late), but as long as your open with members and patient you will find it a very useful place to sell and buy stuff.

GL with you sales.

I also think this is another one of those stupid rules that need rethinking.

We had a discussion about this particular rule not too long ago. Pretty overwhelming desire for it to remain.

AVForums has the same rule, except they make an exception for software like games and movies. It seems to work pretty well for them, could the same not be done here?
