In the last month or so, using Android browser, clicking on Amazon links always directs me to a blank page, yet all other links apart from Amazon work just fine. Only difference in the urls that I can see is that the Amazon ones begin with 'https' instead of 'http' - does anyone know why this is so and how to fix it? Thanks.

Does your Android browser, &/or the Internet Service Provider used on your Android-based device, support the "https" [Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure] protocol?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, my browser supports the secure protocol - I have no problem clicking on other https links (banking, shopping, etc.). It's just the Amazon links on the hotukdeals website that don't work, which is weird. From experimenting a bit, I've discovered that if I right click on these Amazon links and choose 'Open in a new tab', the redirection works fine. It also works fine if I copy and paste the https link into the address bar. Just plain clicking on the link doesn't work though.

I was just wondering why the Amazon links are in fact coded as 'https' rather than 'http' - do you know the reason for this? As far as I can tell, all other linked websites are 'http'.

It is not the first time that links that are "parsed" through the site to add affiliate partner details have caused issues.

For example:

Please could you point me to the thread or to the comment where the link is posted so I can see the issue first-hand?

Either way, the site's developers will need to apply take remedial action within the routine used to intercept hyperlink addresses posted, & their resultant destination.

Hi fanpages

This is one post where the Amazon link doesn't work and just directs me to a blank page:

Thanks.

I see the HotUKDeals-prepared link is this:

(or [ https://www.hotukdeals.com/visit?m=1650&q=2114230 ] when not viewing via the "Mobile" site)

Both of those links function as expected when I click the [GET DEAL] button.

That is, the end result is the expected product page at Amazon (UK); not a blank page.

I am using Mozilla Firefox 34.0.5 (within a Microsoft Windows 8.1 environment) presently.
