I locked it as the OP seemed to be having problems keeping up. Also awaiting a reply to a PM from them.

Once they come back online it can be re-opened.

Quite right too, lol.
I really wanted to offer to buy a few DVD's but the OP was inundated and I was fearful for him/her.

To be honest highguyuk they did list too much at the same time at too good a price. Bit like the first cars turning up at the car boot sale, lol.

Hopefully it will all be legit and the Op will be able to cope. :):)

The thread was locked before Rayman posted an explaination ...
#5
I undertsnad what highguyuk is saying, dont the people on the thread deserve a explanation post before locking?

I was looking at a trade the other day and the guy suddenly got banned, doing a manual search I got the impression it was a day ban for advertising elsewhere but I didnt have a clue what had happened.

If we are going to have a FS/FT area then the Mods should explain why a post is being locked or member being banned.

Im not talking about the above thread but just as a general point

Are you serious ?
You want a mod to go on the thread and explain to everybody why they are locking the thread and then lock it ?????

If people have sent money for items, surely they should be told the reason?

They were, read the thread and stop being pedantic.

Calm down will ya.

When I checked the thread, it was locked with NO explaination. I had enquired about DVDs and came to check and I couldn't reply. This is when I created this thread asking why it had been locked.

It was only 60/90 minutes later that the explaination appeared. This should be put on the thread at the same time as it being closed in future.

As highguy said, the reason was only put in after this thread was posted. Maybe you should read the thread?

Are you?

You mean people dont deserve a reason why they have sent money and a thread been locked?
As pointed out the reason was put in later.

Likewise if your trying to buy something and the guy gets banned and then 24 hours later is unbanned. Would you not want to know why?
Or would you just not do a deal with them, inwhich case anyone who makes the mistake of advertising twice or going PM to quick then stops being traded with.

For a open ongoing FS/FT thread then yes a reason should be given if its being locked.
Some people had sent that guy £50+ and might worry unneccessaryly

Apologies for that, I should have left a reply in the thread, but as the user was online at the time, I expected a quick response to my PM.

Good man, I've left you some rep for that (not that you need it, but that's all I can do!).

Should see that a bit more from people on here, not just mods.

lol I am calm and will remain so :)
Seemed to me your main beef at the time was with the influence you thought Sassie had ?
I don't remember it being 60/90 minutes but if you say so, I'm always blurry that time of the morning.

Like I wrote I was wanting to make an offer too so I know what was going on and you have to admit it was chaotic to say the least ? :)

Let's hope it all ends well :)

Just recieved a refund from this seller
#16
And this is why jumping on the back of every new seller is wrong - the majority of people are honest.
#17
but they did try sell me and o'driscoll the same item. Althought that may have been a error so maybe that is part of the reason it was locked

I really should be flattered that you think the mods have nothing else better to do than follow me round looking at where im posting:roll:

I received a refund earlier as well - shame, as the seller seemed genuine enough to me.

The message in the paypal email just said: "Sorry but "rayman" is asking for everything bar my national insurance number and a scan of my passport, as such I'm refunding you to sell them elsewhere as I should have done in the first place! Sorry for this."

No idea why this guy got such a hard time, especially considering how unintelligible some of the posts are on this forum, yet no one bats an eyelid.

Maybe I'm just annoyed that the one time I'm quick enough to get a good deal, the sale is subsequently cancelled!

They could have completed the deal with anyone they had taken payment from, but decided to refund you, their decision...

I don't believe refunds were given for the reasons stated. Why not prove the doubters wrong by posting the items that payments had been received?

With respect to you hexen, and any others that feel the same, everyone has been whinging and moaning about the amount of scamming and lack of moderation on the FS/FT board.

The minute a Mod takes direct action because there looks like a problem brewing they then get criticised for that.

Just what is it that people expect ?
I don't think or believe for one minute this seller got a hard time. If they were asked for verification on certain things then good, that's what it needs. In any case like Rayman has said they had peoples details anyway so there was nothing stopping them completing the sale, unless I have missed something.

You know I can just imagine that thread if, and I'm not for one minute suggesting the seller was a scammer, 10 days along the line when peoples DVD's had not turned up and people had realised some had been sold to several different buyers.
it would have been chaos and you just know what people would be writing:
Why was this not seen
Why was the thread not closed
What is HUKD doing
Blah Blah

You've all seen it happen before, haven't you ? :x :x

I dont think the Mods should get shot down for doing what is expected of them. Being a mod on another forum i can fully understand why he intervened. as one of the buyers, yes, its a shame that it didnt complete but at least i wont be on tenterhooks for the next week wondering if the items will ever turn up. after all, better safe than sorry.
thumbs up guys
