Its stupid rule around here.

Can you post a link to where you replied to someone who offered you something you don't want, and got punished by it being classed as a bump?

I did kind of say possibly (to the trades.. but after viewing the games i changed my mind), but the fact is I wasn't originally asking for trades in the title...

yes but still, locking the thread , saying i have used 2 bumps and then when i get it unlocked I have to use my last bump to get it seen...

Do you see what I mean? I've effectively lost 3 bumps and only have 2 real chances of selling the item now, instead of 4...

I should of kept it AV Forums lol..

The mod was spot on.

You have Feedback of 76, if you don't understand the rules with that amount of trades, then you never will. :)

I will have to re-read the rules then...

I've never seen what he mentioned in the rules..

I think they should send you a PM when they update the rules...

ti you ever thought people are ded up with you taking the urine, the amount of threads in misc that are really in the hope of getting games, threads you post in the fs board the eventually turn inot a discussion about your consoles and wants, maybe thats wy your threads are getting reported, you know the rules yet continually flank them, look at what your doing rather than playing the baby
#10
Now this really is a bad rule:

'Sellers listed price CANNOT be altered once offers have been made'

So if I am selling it for £21, somebody offers £15 I don't say anything/reply and therefore I must leave the price at £21 and less users will look..

The bump rules works fine.

New suggestion for the rulebook: ban people who put their name at the end of every post, it's so bleeding iritating.
#19
Whereas now, even taking half an hour to upload pictures counts as a bump..

So it should, upload the pics to the host site before you list the items, so pics are ready to list as you post the thread.

If you put at post saying "reserved for pics" and someone asks for pics 20 mins later, I agree its a bump.

I agree it's getting ridiclous.

I got my thread locked as i supposedly had too many bumps. Ascottishbloke said that accepting an offer was a bump, when someone said I will pay paypal and then I replied bank transfer only as a bump and also telling someone they got something wrong was a bump.

He is getting on my nerves.

Just read your thread, ascottishbloke got it absolutely correct, that thread was a pee-take.

Bumpety, bump, bump, bump bump.

He actually missed the one where you replied to a thread spoil.

I can't. I am so annoyed. I sold something and then he closes the thread.

And no saint.

Bumpy - 1st bump I made

Bumptey bump. - 2nd Bump I made.

I want Bank Transfer anyway. - Not a bump letting him know I only accept BT as he offered me paypal

No thanks. Still want £75 really. - Telling the buyer I don't want to except the offer.HOW IS THIS A BUMP

Last bump. - 3rd Bump

£109.50 one is not unlocked. - Replying to the person who said that the phone was £109 elsewhere.HOW IS THIS A BUMP

I will take the £70 - Accepting the offer. HOW IS THIS A BUMP

Thats how I explained it to Ascottishbloke.

avforums has the unlimited bumping and its much better u dont need to bloody keep track of whose bumping and whats classed as a bump lol
it works great there and sales go much quicker, if u constantly bump and get no replies u get the idea and might stop bumping or change price etc etc

Also it might be a good idea to put them in sections like on AVforums it would look much better.

So simply put.

Though I agree they could sort this by placing a rule of only one Open thread per user, still keeping the 7 day ruling on same items, keep the bumps to two per day, (one morning, afternoon or evening etc.) You can then see that people will knock prices down. It would be easier to deal with for mods if the users could only have one open, people would be more likely to proxy bump, which would I think make it easier to track information.

Just my thoughts.

totally agree it would eliminate so many problems, been suggested many times so doubt it will be ever implemented unless the mods push for it

Could just ban bumping altogether and replace it with a decent search engine so you could find something :whistling:

I feel they should start implementing a vote system to see what FS/FT members would like. Doesn't have to be internal. Could stick a forum post over a couple of weeks and months and use a system like this link to see what people like. Don't have to implement but its nice to know there listening. Of course if they like it they could do, the more happy members they have the more recommends they will get and the more money will be made.

really depends on whther there going to lsiten to those who cant foloow rules or those that can, as the ones that can follow rules will be happy either way, those that cant wont be happy with whatever, catch 22 really, but i do think things would run more clearly if the rules where updated and bullets rather than long drawn out like it is at the mo, where they keep adding a bit here and a bit there, one live thread, max bumps etc,etc would make it far easier to follow

Brought that up before with Sigma i'm sure. As its a little confusing to some. Even people who do read the rules and do usually not make mistakes, mistakes can happen or rules can be stricter by certain mods then others. Its all up to them what they deem a bump it can be more complex then others to say what is a clear bump and what isn't. If that rule was changed to the one suggested you would end up with more sales and more forum visitors i'm sure.

I will continue using the forum to the best of the bumps. :)

I agree, I used to do that a while ago, (eg. with some aceakards, I was unsure of whether or not I was allowed to sell more 2 in the period of a few months...

In my latest thread, I have made everything clear (and made some of it stand out using capitals lol eg - I will only trade for the following and nothing else etc.) and posted the pics straight away..

That way I can avoid losing those precious 3 bumps, hopefully :-D

They should replace it with that HUKD Help google based search engine someone on here did a while ago..

That is awesome for searching with.

That is why

you cant stick to any of the rules timothy, no matter what they are, you use the boards to scrounge for free or brag about your £5 buys to then sell them for more, you then relist your stuff hopeing no one will notice when te last listeing was, try leaving it more than a few days before doing it, it may not get spotted then, but hey go blame everyone esle if it makes you feel better

personally think the mods should ban you and others from the boards, as no matter how many times you break the rules you still keep on doing it

Scrounge for free? Since when? Yes, maybe once with that 48hr code thing, but still I've given lots of stuff away for free (mainly games)

I bought a SNES for £1.25, i paid £20 for the wires etc, i paid £5 for the mario game..

I sell it for £30 delivered. I get about £20 after p&p.. I make a small loss.

I admit about that tribal tap and the old snes thread. I admit I really should have asked a mod before sticking it in there (I stuck it in the thread, because, it was obviously snes realted..)

Oh well...

By the way, opposite of this thread, but how come bumping policy in the FS/T section is strict as hell now, whereas when when Ms Money Penny lists an item for sale in Misc (before anyone argues the point, she even calls the posting a deal herself and offers it at £80 del), at http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/419473/before-i-go-to-all-the-effort/ , 13 of the thread's 25 messages are from her, and it's fine?
