I presume somebody marked it as 'spam' in error & asked for Moderator intervention to reverse that status.

If a new merchant is posted we take time to research them before deciding if a deal should remain on the forum.
Threads are temporarily removed. We feel that it is better to be safe than sorry i.e if it turns out to be a scam, fake goods etc by spamming whilst we check ensures that no more HUKDers are entrapped by a (for example) rogue trader.
Thanks for your patience in this matter fp but I'm sure you'd rather the company is looked into (as you also requested this in the thread) rather than not.
In this case they appear to be legit as it turns out to be an ex-Amazon finance director - John Pollard - that has launched his own online video game retail website.
But it is standard practice for HUKD mods/admin to look into new merchants rather than let any deal thread through in the interest of protecting our members

In fact, you'll see in the first comment that I was enquiring if anybody had any experience with the retailer as I had not heard of them previously & I am personally looking to buy this product in the next few days.

The merchant was already registered in the HotUKDeals database before I submitted my deal thread though (I checked first!).

I've checked back 5 years in deals and there's nothing.
Not to worry though, all is good now

Maybe somebody started to create a deal, found the merchant didn't exist, & had to add them.

There used to be (maybe there still is?) a misleading error message displayed when a new merchant is created & perhaps the member thought they had messed up the creation & did not continue listing the deal as intended.

As you said, though, all is well now.

I had a particularly bad experience with playgamesuk. I ordered £341 of Wii gear and when I complained that there was a nunchuck (£14.99) missing, John Pollard wrote to me claiming he had photographic evidence that the nunchuck was packed and he claimed to have reported me to the police for fraud. I asked to see the evidence and go no reply. I spoke to a lawyer and sent numerous letters and got no reply. Small claims court said I could not use that route to sue for liber or slander. My lawyer warned me that to bring such a case through the normal courts would be expensive.
All I can do is relay my experience.
(I still have the emails supporting my statements above)
